I've recently started favoring longbows over recurves and am shooting a Hill-style longbow 46@28 and am looking for something a little heavier. The Maddogg Mutt was mentioned on the Tred Barta bow thread and was wondering whos shot one and how do they perform.
Thanks,
Jonathan
Mike makes really nice bows. The Mutt if I'm not mistaken is made from left-over material from other bows, therefore he is able to sell them cheaper.
Mike is not only a fine bowyer but fine man to boot!
If I had read your post more carefully, I would have replied; I have shot Mike's r/d longbow and was very pleased with it's performance. It was only 40@ 28 but had great cast for such a light bow,and was a pleasure to shoot.

Thanks AA Im not looking to spend allot of money and dont care to much about the appearence of a bow (deer dont care about pretty bows)so I thought this would be a good bow for me. If I do get one it would be 55@28.
I plan to order one with my tax return.
I like the way Mike thinks about conserving the left over material.
If I didn't like the wood combo for some reason, I could always have it camo dipped in a desireable pattern.
Good luck and if you get one, let us know how it shoots.
Paul
I have his midsize longbow and midsize recurve. Great bows. I would expect the same to be true for the Mutt!
