Please welcome our new Trad Gang sponsor, The Feathered Shaft (http://www.thefeatheredshaft.com/) :wavey:
Last year I had a booth next to Rick. Every time he would put one of his "beater" shafts on the spinner I would just shake my head...straight as an XX78! If I ever shoot wood, they will be from the Feathered Shaft.
Welcome to Trad Gang.
It's always great to have another sponsor.
You absolutely can't go wrong with Rick's arrows. Awesome stuff!
Rick, welcome to Trad Gang. It was a pleasure to talk with you at Kalamazoo. Good luck.
Shick
Welcome!

Shoot straight, Shinken

Welcome aboard, checkin out your arrows at Kzoo, very nice!
Rick,
Great to meet you at the Kalamazoo Expo...you have some awesome looking arrows. Make me want to shoot wood arrows.
Don't remember if you have flu flu arrows or not?
Either way Welcome aboard and the best of luck!
Josh
Welcome :campfire:
Thanks for the nice welcome words, guys. With as much enjoyment as I get from this site, it was a pretty easy decision.
Josh, I was pleased to meet you, too. I've been thinking about making up some arrows to match that new yellow and red string you made for my GN. I didn't have any Flu Flu's at the show, but I have the technology to make them. No Frills to Full Dress, custom is what I do.
Rick it was nice talking to you at Kalamazoo. I hope we meet again soon.
Jack
Welcome Rick, Nice to see you last weekend.
That's a nice looking website. I'll keep you in mind when the time comes.
Welcome! Beautiful work.
Nice looking arrows.Good luck.
Rick,
Congrats and thanks on stepping on as a sponsor!
"Gangers," this guy REALLY knows his stuff, and understands s-t-r-a-i-g-h-t better than anyone I've ever met. Whether you are looking for fine arrows or good supplies and accessories... this would be a great man to get in touch with!
:clapper: :clapper:
Welcome Rick, it was nice to meeting you at Kzoo.
Welcome, to my personal friend and arrow building mentor. See you tomorrow afternoon. Rick. Flint
:wavey:
nice work and welcome.
:clapper: It was nice to meet you Rick.
Take care Dave.
Rick, Thanks for sponsoring and good luck!
Not to sidetrack this welcome thread, but how did I miss the "World Renowned Bowhunter" last w/e? I spent quite a while talking w/ Blake Fisher...
I did get to meet Fletcher's better half as well.
Sooner or later I will end up on the wood side.
Steve I don't know how we missed each other. I kept looking for you. You must have kept one step in front of me. :biglaugh:
See you in Nashville.
Jack
welcome
Welcome Rick Great to have you onboard. Everyone I have to say Rick builds the best Arrows and he really loves his trade
just bought a dz from him in kzoo...not a crooked one in the bunch! I will be ordering all of them from Rick! Beautiful woodies
They are supposed to be straight; I hope they're not overspined. :D Which ones did you get, so I can put a face to your handle? BTW, thanks!
I do agree with all that have said it, Rick knows STAIGHT! We did the GLLI last year and that was my first meeting with Rick and I was very impressed with his arrows. I wish we could have visited more last weekend, I enjoy talking with you. Welcome again Rick.
Chuck
I just got a dozen shafts from Rick, SWEEEEET! I couldn't tell you how many folks have commented on them since I started using them only about 4 days ago. They fly great and are super straight. All within just a few grains of each other and spined almost exactly to the pound of each other. What more could you ask for?
Another thing about The Feathered Shaft is that Rick sent me several arrows to test to make sure what pound spine I needed. He told me to shoot them and cut them to what ever I needed, and then mark that shaft and send them back to him. He them matched the dozen I got to that shaft.
Just ordering some shafts could have been bad. I ordered them for a Robertson 53#@28" longbow that I pull 28.5#. Should have been about 55#, so I would have ordered 55#-60# spine shafts, when I shot them I needed a 63# spine shaft at 30" and cut it to 29". Saved me alot of trouble and wasted money.
Great Job Rick!
Rick makes some amazing arrows. Plus he's a great guy.
At dinner Saturday night, I found out Rick was a jet engine mechanic in a previous life...the precision of his wood shafts then made a little more sense to me.
I visited with Rick today and got to see a SWEET surprise. I will let Rick tell what it is, but I would like to own it one day. By the way Rick Thanks for picking up the 160 Left Bevel Grizzly's for me at KZOO.Now to mount them on those Howard Hill remake arrows you built me. Wish I could have went with you again this year. Maybe next year.Flint
I picked up a dozen of Ricks "Classic" in Douglas fir. Most beautiful arrows that I have seen, I normally make my own but as I walked by his booth at KZOO I fell in love.Took the arrows home, tapered a few and shot my Schafer for an hour. Unbeleiveable flight, best $129 I have ever spent thanks Rick!
Thanks Rick for doing what you do.
Sorry we couldn't spend more time chattin on Saturday. So much to see and so little time!
Rick is a great arrowsmith.
Welcome Rick! Nice to meet you at Kzoo. I may have to think about some wood arrows sometime.
Welcome, I'm going to be working with Rick on a couple of bows sounds like good stuff.

All this talk made me do it. I just called Rick and ordered a dozen Fir Bald Eagles. :)
I can hardly wait.
Duane
On Sunday I bought the 70-72 spine weight Fir's. tapered, and can't wait to get stained, with stain and red stuff!
I have known Rick for 20 years and can tell you he is an honest guy and does great work. My son and I bought shafts from him recently and they are perfectly straight and fly great.
As soon as my new bow arrives I will pull the trigger and order some test arrows from Rick before buying a set of FULL DRESS.
Rick's work and attention to detail are superb!!!
Shoot straight, Shinken
Rick also has the drive for perfection when making arrows. His patience is amazing, and his customer service already is established as "above and beyond". Thanks, Rick for the extra time you've already spent on me.
