Can anyone help with making a ground blind? Was hoping to get some ideas to make some in the spring. If anyone has build along pics would love to see them. Thanks.
They have some really reasonably priced blinds out that pop up. I use a Ameristep Penthouse. It is 7 feet tall and cost around 160 new.
You can find a new pop up for around 100 bucks, but you may be limited on length of bow you can use.
Good luck,
Paul
wally world get their camo burlap/tarp or what every they call it. Also get some string jute twine will work so would kite string. Fine your ambush site and tie the camo to make a wall, fill in wholes with branches. Your done building a blind. Also when finding your spot make sure you have back cover too.
You can get more then one and fix then to go around you and fill them in to brake up out line.. Make shooting lines and peep wholes. when Your done hunting that area, pack it out. Find New sport and re-build.
I have a couple of primos ground max blinds that cost less than $100 ea. They work well for me. No problem shooting a Shrew in there

Just picked one up at Gander Mtn. yesterday. I think it's called the Rubicon, or something like that. It was only $65 or so. It's 60"x60"x60", though so I got to test it out and make sure I can shoot my recurve in it.
All you need is to do some thing like this.

Awesome pictures Jerry. Background is what it is all about.
Love the pics Jerry. Gives me some ideas for what to do in the spring. Thanks everyone
I use the camo burlap to make a box and then brush it up to make look like a brush pile. Back cover is also important. A quiet, comfortable seat with a backrest is crucial to me, because when I am comfortable, I can sit still for much longer. All the camo in the world is no good if you fidget too much, and I am a world class fidgeter.
I also go all natural but in some places it I seemed to get picked pout fast last year, just needed to put more effort in the set up.
El Naterale'!!!
You don't need anything more than what nature provides you out in the forest. G Fred Asbells new book "ground hunters Bible" will be a good start for someone just getting into the ground blind "business". Pit blinds are a good option in areas with little dead-fall available.
Have fun and be creative. It works.
