Looking for opinions on the best 1 piece longbow case for a longbow that is 66" long.
I want something low profile that offers alot of protection. Probably a soft case, but if it wasn't to bulky I would consider a hard case. I travel to 3d shoots with friends and we carpool so it can get pretty tight sometimes getting everyone in one vehicle.
How about a piece of PVC and two end caps
True if that pvc were fur lined or something. Probably not. Im looking for a bit of style and I think pvc is a bit much. Probably cheaper though.
I have the strung longbow case from 3R with the side pocket, I love the case but it will not fit my 66" strung bow. I ended up buying a wool bow sock from GFA. Still looking for a case where I can leave my bow strung!
I have a Kathy Kelly case strung longbow case that fits my 66" ACS nicely.
Predator Man, I'm assuming this is for the 66" ACS you mentioned in another thread? Ive been looking for a hard case for sometime as well, but no luck this far. I tried using PVC but couldn't find any big enough. I also found a 6" carpet tube, and its inside diameter wasn't big enough for my unstrung ACS due to it extreme reflex/deflex design. I would have to flex the limbs just past my comfort level in the tube. If you find something that works, please let me know, as I'm still on the hunt.
Black Widow has a great hard case.Your bow goes in a sock and then in tube.I might sell the one i have all of my longbows are take down.
:wavey:
I got a fur lined suede case at K-zoo from the GFA booth and it is awesome. It is very thick and offers plenty of protection but also has a nice traditional look to it.
best protection at a reasonable cost: 3" heavy wall pvc pipe.
great protection and good for shipping: lightweight 3" corrugated drain pipe at lowes (best $8 you'll spend for a longbow tube).
anything soft, like a bow sock: at best, just scratch and mar proofing for car travel.
Zmonster makes a good point about the reflex deflex design of my acx.. I am looking at the bear padded case but its 100 dollars. The martin padded case is only 30 dollars but im not sure if either will fit this bow. I may have to get the recurve version. I think a GFA padded sock would be all I needed. Does he have a site where he sell's these?
found them! http://www.gfredasbell.com/gfa_bow_cases.php
I use a Plano "Airliner" fishing rod case. It is a hard case, adjustable, has a handle and holds two or more longbows. Of course, you will need a sleeve to protect the bow(s). It is a bit spendy (at least it was when I bought it in Juneau), but it has been worth it.
The black widow hard case I have is very sturdy. I am able to put 2 R/D longbow into it both with bowsock on. Depending on your longbow style you may be able to just use a 3" PVC pipe for that.
I just got my BW case and love it. I have a PVC case too but its quite a bit heavier
