What is it and how's it work ?????
The only Eco Dipper Google recognizes are the ones for a cow's udder 8^))))). Ya got me friend.
The Winter Bow Shoppe had the ECO DIPPER, it is pretty cool. Its a little deal the clips on the top side of the gasket lacquer can, screw it on tight. Take your arrow, dip a end in the GL and push it thru the gasket on the ECO DIPPER, it seals your arrow, the GL dries in seconds, repeat and your pretty much done. The excess runs back into the can. Once your finished set the ED aside let it dry and the things cleans up in seconds! My buddy picked one up, its pretty slick, you can do a cap dip as well! The extra gaskets are $1.00 and can do about 100 arrows!
Wow! I learned something new again tonight, and still don't understand.
Eco Dipper (http://www.winterbowshoppe.biz/index.htm)
Interesting concept but I can't help but wonder: why develop a solution where there is no problem?
Maybe I'm just backwards...

Different and compact. Wonder what type of product is used to seal the arrows ? Also what's the clean up on the unit after cresting ?
It sounds like the dipper that 3Rivers sells. Is it different?
Okay, I clicked on the link, and saw what it is and how it works - I should've done that before posting.
Moooseran, it looks to me as if the regular gasket lacquer is supposed to be used with this. And, just like with the Big Dipper and gasket, after use let the finish on the gasket or dipper body dry a little bit and then peel it off.

Wow that's pretty slick.Even I'd like one of those. And I hate dipping with five passions because of the mess.
I bought one at Kzoo and tried it yesterday and it works very well. Fast, easy and does the job well. Good coverage, easy clean up and faster than others. MIKE
What type of cresting paints can be used with this system if you coat with gasket lacquer ? I have heard of horror stories with the big dipper and gasket wiping those pretty cresting lines right off. I wonder if I could use regular latex enamel paint with this system for my cap dip ? Wonder if it would work with regular Poly or Dalys Profin, lots of guys use those products due to them being tougher than gasket lacquer. How much does the Eco Dipper cost ? If it is not too expensive it would worth a try with the latex enamels, acrylic cresting paint and Dalys.

Where can we get one?
They were going for $25.00 in Kalamazoo. Click for more info on the link above....
That is slick!
Looks like a slick tool. Only draw back that I see is having an open container, giving off fumes. Wouldn't even think about using it with any bohning product.
Yep Badger, that was what I was getting at too in my earlier post asking if it would work with water based products. With a quart can of Bohning lacquer open I would start seeing purple elephants in a few minutes, haha !!! If anyone has used it yet with acrylic based enamels let us know how it works ?

I think the idea is good if your doing a small amount of arrows (6) easy clean up and very little mess to contend with. Looks like I'll have to invest in a couple............
I have always used bohning paints and sealers. I was wondering if gasket lacquer was water proof.Gary
Because the finish must "blob" around the shaft before it's pushed through the gasket I don't think a thin finish like polyurethane would work very well. This looks to me as if it will need a highly viscous finish, like gasket lacquer.
For me, I have a big dipper tube full of gasket lacquer at all times. I don't think this system would give me any advantages. And, with the speed with which gl dries, I'd be a little concerned about leaving the can open that long lest it form a skin or thicken. The "blob" that drips back into the can from the shaft seems as if it would dry quickly, too.
On the other hand, I haven't tried it so this could all be a mute point.

No, GL is NOT waterproof. GL is for fairweather target shooters.

What Steve said. It starts to crack/flake after being wet for a couple hours. But hard to beat for 3D target arrows (doesn't stick) or making up some quick "disposable" stumpers.
I use the GL for my squirrel arrows 1 or 2 coats and ready to fletch up. I try not to spend to much time on throw away arrows. Flint
One of my partners almost missed out on one of the biggest dall rams ever killed with a stick because he had GL arrows. Thank GOD he checked them before he got his shot and straightened the damn boomerang.....
I have tried the eco dipper out on some very thin materials and all I had to do was run it through a couple of extra times to get the finish I wanted. I think you could also just enlarge the little hole slightly so it does not wipe quite as hard on the shaft that way you could use varnish or what ever else you want. I like the fact that I can do 12 arrows in about 2 min with GL and be done, so far that has not been a problem with the GL drying to quickly in the can.
I just got done doing some checking around and the gasket that is used in the eco dipper was and still is used to put water stain on arrows by a large arrow company. So it should be able to put on any finish no mater the viscosity with out any adaptions or modifications. Like I said previously I put on some thin stuff to try it out and it worked OK for me.
