There's a good selection, try Cascade Archery, then Raven is the model, can't think of the make. Old Bear bows had the magnum and super magnum(48"), Kiko bows are very short and Rodney Wright archery.

St. Joe recently made a little 54 inch recurve that got some really great feedback at K-zoo. This one is 58@28 but feels like much less. There were guys with 30 inch draws taking it for a spin and it shot excellent with no pinch.

I have the first Sheepeater with the raised grip---lots of fun--a real treat to carry on long hikes---and in the thick stuff---it is superb.

Ahhhh, what goes around, comes around.  You may also opt to pick up a vintage Kodiak Magnum, or Browning Nomad Stalker, or a Pearson BPH-52..all three 52" bows,  or a Shakespeare Super Necedah at 54".  Not to mention the Shakespeare Cascade 50", or the Browning Cobra 50".  Lots of good old short bows that will perform very well.

If you have a draw length of 28 inches or less
Rodney Wright's stalker 40 inch recurve or his 52 inch Bushbow flatbow both perform flawlessly.

Cascade's Golden Hawk Magnum is available in a 48 inch and a 52 inch length both three piece takedowns.  They also offer their Night Hawk in a 52 inch length three piece.  The Night Hawk has a phenolic riser.  I have two Golden Hawks in 52 inch length and they are as good as it gets.  None of the negatives of the old short bows such as the Bear Magnum or Super Magnum.

I'll toss out another vote for the Black Mountain Sheepeater. I've had mine for several months now. Shoots smooth, quiet and accurate...can't ask for much more!

I would be honored to offer you a Sheepeater. There are some good bows from great bowyers mentioned here too. Elf brought up Rodney Wright. He does make a good shooter. Nice guy too. George brought up an interesting point too. Pop always told me to hang on to my ties. Sooner or later, they all came back in style. Only problem being............I don't wear ties. But those little bows of not so long ago were special. Still shoot good. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks to all my Sheepshooter out there. Hope you're all well.

48" or 52" Cascade Night Hawk. By far the best short bow out there.

I picked up a Black Swan Sniper, I'll put that bow up against any bow listed here. This is one Kick Butt Bow.

Must say that the Sheepeater I have palyed with a bit it is my brothers sure is a fine shooter. I draw to 30+ no complaints from the bow. I do believe it loads a bit at the back of the 30" draw but I thnk that is a good thing (helps with my release). I sure do shoot it well.

Timberhawk Strike XT 54 in., SMOOTH, SMOOTH SMOOTH- shoots like a 60-62 in. bow, my buddy has a 31.5 in. draw and he said it was still smooth at his draw and no appreciable finger pinch....its also very fast and quiet..hands down my favorite short bow besides my 56 in. Fedora..

Jack Kempf makes his Kwik Styk in 52", shoots well, would be awesome in a blind. Shot one last week, has me thinking hard as it isn't much different than the longer ones that I have.

The Sheep Eaters are pretty neat as well.

If you want the shortest recurve out there, have a long look at Rodney Wright's 1 piece Stawker Recurve.  Smooth, pretty, and really shoots where you look.
My new bow should be ready in 2-3 weeks...will gladly send pics.

Can't wait...it feels like its married to your hand.

Addiction Recurve at 54" shot real well for me at K-Zoo. I draw @29' now and had no problems with it at all. John Dill of Anneewakee Archery sells them.

I have a 56" Morrison Mini-14 ILF with the "C" longbow limbs that is fabulous. With my 29.5" draw length, it is the shortest Morrison that will work for me, although I have several other great Morrisons that are longer. I also have quite a few 54" and 56" Shrews that are wonderful bows. I have one Sheepeater that is a very low poundage bow, and I have not yet found the right arrow to tune to the bow because my arrows all have too stiff a spine. Therefore, I can't yet comment on how the Sheepeater shoots. It does not have the same level of construction and finish as the Morrisons or the Shrews, but it is also quite a bit less expensive, so you get what I think will be a good bow for the price.

I have a couple old Bear Super Magnum 48's that shoot great.  I draw 28" and have no problem with them.
