I went to KZoo this weekend with a couple buddies from West Virginia and had a great time. We each took a new bow home along with some great info from the guest speakers. Thanks Joe and Monty. I met some new friends and plan to go back as soon as our wives forgive us (we did buy 3 bows). Does anyone know the number of attendees? I hope the vendors made a couple bucks because I'd hate to see something good fizzle out due to lack of profitability. That's why we drive 10 hours.......there aren't many traditional events close to us. Keep it going. :p Thanks again for a good weekend.
I'm curious as to the number of folks that walked thru the door, I tell ya, on Saturday you couldn't move in the place, it was packed! Good times!
I thought I heard over 400 by 7pm on Friday alone. Saturday was just plain crazy!!!
I heard a rumor about 900 people through the door during the first hour on Saturday - not including those with a weekend pass that had been there on Friday!
From my standpoint as a vendor it was a very good show. Lots of new patients for the bow hospital, and lots of sales of the other products as well. Seemed like a very well attended show, and I hope all the vendors did well.
It is a mutually supporting deal - lots of customers draws more vendors, and more vendors draws more customers. We both need each others support! And hopefully it doesn't stop at the show. Most vendors hope to expose their products to customers at the shows with the expectation that it will help produce sales throughout the year.
Thank you to everyone that stopped by! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
WVeer, I'm sure you know about ATAR at Lake Stephens, right? A really great trad event right in our own back yard.
I have heard about it David, but haven't made it down there yet. It's in the summer and seems like I'm never able to get the time. I hope to make it down sometime though. I do manage to hit the WVBA shoots once in a while though. Not all trad :( though.
I know what you mjean about the WVBA shoots--but I do enjoy them. ATAR is all trad. You would love it. Great time, good courses to shoot, swim in the lake, fish if you want. My wife even likes that one ;)
Is there a date set for ATAR this year? Do very many vendors attend?
I got there Sunday about 9:45 and was a little surprised to see the parking lot had maybe 50 vehicles. While checking in I asked how the show was going. I've missed the last few shows and remembered huge crowds before that, esp. Saturdays. Was told there was 1,200+ on Sat. In '04 they had over 2,100. I hope things get better!
I was able to try out many more bows this time due to the smaller crowd, and WOW.... what bows!
Will be ordering 2-3 soon. I hope all the vendors did well.......Great show!
July 9th, 10th & 11th are the 2010 ATAR dates.

WVeer, make the time to go. The vendor area is almost as good as K-zoo and you get to shoot too! It's a great shoot, and great people, but, for some reason, they don't seem to be able to find a level area for the 3-D courses!!
Ha! Dave there isn't a level place in WV. This is "The Mountain State" man!
We did OK on Sunday, but Saturday of course was the big one. I'm pretty new at all this vendor show stuff, but it sure seems like the slow Sunday kind of feeds on itself. If there are no people, some vendors start packing stuff up. But I would sure think most would be more than happy to stay if there are people there to sell to.
If you want to be able to spend time talking with vendors without so many people around Sunday is definately the day to do it. Shoot bows without lines, heck, you could probably shoot twice as many bows in half the amount of time on Sunday. And maybe even pick up a deal on something that a vendor doesn't want to haul home again.
It seems like people have figured out that Friday is a good day to get there ahead of the crowd. I would think coming in on their heels would be as good or better!
