Title: Zipper for my Daughter
Post by: Benjy on January 31, 2010, 09:34:00 PM
I was bitten by the Zipper bug at ATAR this past year. After shooting some of them, I fell in love with the SXT with the 60” recurve limbs. They were amazingly quiet and shot very well. After working with Bill and deciding on my wood combinations and his new evolution limbs, I finally got it ordered! He is the most patient man I have ever dealt with. He answered hundreds of dumb questions and relentless pm’s that I sent him (He must have gotten plenty of practice from all of you  :bigsmyl:  )

Through all of our talks, I found out he had a SXT that would work for my daughter. We made the necessary arrangements and the bow arrived! Wow! It is beautiful!  It’s a SXT handle with zercote, red phenolic stripes, and curly maple.  The recurve limbs have bamboo cores and curly maple veneers. It is 35#@25” and makes a 58” bow. I can’t wait for mine to get here!

Here are some pictures of my daughter with “her” bow! (Thats my new pocket tracker in the background)

April looks ready for 3d season.

Those new limbs attracted alot of attention this weekend at Kzoo. I got to shoot a set on a beautiful riser and was very impressed.

I wished I had a father like that!!! No not really I love my dad very much and I know I'm not going to have him with me much longer> I just found out last week he has cancer in the lungs. I'm sorry Benjy for stealing this moment but it makes appreciate my dad when I see what you have sone with your daughter. That is a moment you can cherish for a life time. Good luck April with a nice looking Zipper!!!

That is great!  Bill for sure makes one of the prettiest bows I've ever seen.  Although, I don't know if I would give him credit for that.  My bet is that Tracy is actually the one who picks out all of the bow woods. HA!

I won't be able to call her Elf much longer, she is growing like a weed. The bow looks about perfect for her!

You guys are all to kind! I am a very lucky man! I started her out very young, as long as she showed interest.

I'm working on her to go to some shoots with me. I told her we could leave her mother at home to do chores, while she and I are out playing.

Chris, I will have to do some rigging on my running deer target. We Tradgangers are masters at figuring out "how to" stuff.

Dave she is growing up way to fast! I still laugh when I think about the "elf"

I knew it Bill.  You might be the guy behind the mechanics, but Tracy is the one with the "fashion sence"!

Benji, Hope she's got another bow for bowfishing. would be a shame to get scales on that one. Bill does build a fine bow and yes in my opinion he has alot of good help at home. Hope to see you at Rocks Pond. Don
