I think what elkherder is gonna do is great, how about 12 of you or even more do an arrow of your best work(cresting, dipping, burning,or skins)and give them for auction for the St.Jude auction as a set.or 2-set's.I dont have any affiliation with St.Jude other than donating. But I have seen some of you guys do some very impressive work,And what would a $10. dollar arrow thrown in with 11 more get at the auction? and it should be signed by the crafter. Its just an idea please give your thoughts.
Again, a great idea!
To bad I'm not that talented, yet :p
Also I kinda live a long way away..
I think that'd be a great idea. There's some talented folks here.
We just need them to step up and offer the arrow!Come on guys Ive seen your work. This can only benefit kids in need
:clapper: :clapper: great idea
maybe one of the leather workers who put out some awesome quivers could toss in a st,jude tradgangers quiver???????
TTT
I would but I don't make my own sorry.
Jer bear
What are the specs on the bow when I'm pretty sure I could make somthing happen.
Jeff,Pm elkherder and he can give them to you.Hopefully some of the other guys will help.
Come on all you arrow builders get on the band wagon
I have donated a dozen arrows for the past couple of years. I let the winner choose how he or she would like them done up. There are several others that also donate arrows.
The Feathered Shaft and I will get in on this. I'll get my design cap on.
specs on evo are:::::: 66"...44@28"
You dont have to be a sponsor just a good arrow maker all we need is 1 arrow.and 12 guys to send in one arrow each.signed and dated.
TTT for some more arrows
I seem to be out of this loop :( What is happening with EVO. Last I heard he was watching tv with it and taking it out to dinner :) . Is it going up for auction, got to save the pennies and dimes, it will go for a bundle.
If any one who does their own arrows would like to get in on this it would be great just one signed and dated for a mixed dozen. Thanks :campfire:
What are ya thinking, Maybe a 50-55 spine, leave full length or a certain length? I'm not the best out there but consider my arrows to be of pretty good quality.

If ya think something like these will work I'm in, shoot I'll make two so Elkherder can have one also.
Yeah, Moose, those will do! I like your faded crown.
If my work will do I would be happy to send an arrow. What specs? Where do I send it? David
mooseman, snag we want your arrow's all we need is one from each(want to get a mixed dozen) sign it and date it and I will tell you where to send it to.They look great guys!these are the bow specs we can try for full lenght.specs on evo are:::::: 66"...44@28"Thanks.anyone else who wants in please post
Count me in, :saywhat: I might be able to stick an arrow together.
Just let me know where to send it and if we need to leave it full length or do we cut it and put a point on it.
Regards.
Bert. :wavey:
Ok, leave it full length, untapered tip? Is the bow center cut, 1/16", 1/8"??? Just let me know where to mail it to and it's done. Thanks, David
I think they should be full length and untapered.Throw a pic up when you get it done and I will collect them and do a group pick when I get them all.Pm me for my address.Thank you all for the help.I will try and get a count of who's in tonight.Dont forget to sign and date it.
If you leave them untapered you are assuming the person to be able to tune, cut, taper and glue - no "newbie" will do that - just a thought
I think some spec's should be set down...spine and wieght at least..taper or paralell? Wood type? fletching style? Nock? Am I making it to complecated? oy vey...well count me in.. :notworthy: ..
Shawn...
All the shafts I have in stock are 75# and heavier....I can get some lighter ones if need be...??? If we are talking a 44# bow, even if it is a recurve cut to center 75# is going to be too stiff.
Imo I think they should be untapered and uncut so if the winner of the bow decides to shoot it and has a 29"or 30" draw he can cut them.If a newbie wins the auction and can spend that type of money he or she could afford to get them cut.The bow specs are 66" 44#@28.David I shoot 70-80# shafts but I will see if I can acquire a 45-50# shaft for ya.
No need...Surewood Shafts is not far away! I can get a shaft that will work.
ok so far this is the list,If I missed anyone let me know or if you want in let me know.we have all 12 arrow builders,When I get them together I will post a group pic. :campfire:

you guys are cool...........bow is 66"...44@28....looks like its 3/8" cut to me but i'm blind in one and fadin fast in the other. :biglaugh: thanks you guys this means a lot to me and a whole lot to the needy kids of st,jude............larry
Let me see if I got this right 44@28 and just a guess that will be the draw with a +3/8" cut I'm coming up with a 46# spine. Do you all think that's close enough? That was figuring a 31.25 shaft and a 125 point. Also all I have in that spine are 5/16 shafts.
I'm thinking 45-50# spine for any wood arrow due to the centershot...Gold Tip 35/55 would work CE Thunderstorms would work....
OK,
I have started on mine, just wanted to let you know we need 4 more, there has got to be more guys here that can make an arrow!!
Gonna start mine in the mourning, shot our annual trad dart tourny today and I'm whooped.
We just got another maker to get in on it,now we need three more. And maybe a quiver!
OK,
I am almost finished mine, Just one more dip to cover up the date etc..
Looking pretty good if I may say so myself.
Might even post a picture or is that allowed?
Regards.
Bert. :bigsmyl:
Please do and when I get them all I will post a group pic. Thanks for the donation.
We still need three more guys to make arrows.
TTT
We need three more guys to make a single arrow anyone, anyone, anyone :campfire:
Ok, Since nobody else wants to donate an arrow. I will buy three shafts for any three guys who wouldn't mind making them up and I will even buy the feathers.Any takers?
I could make an arrow but I have to say I don't make them fancy. Cedar, dipped in poly with imitation turkey feathers and a white nock. Very basic, but I do handcraft them, and they shoot great. Will that work?
OK...why did this post twice? Please delete this one!
Joe,That would work if you want to donate I will add you to the list. Can you keep it full length and the specs for the bow are 66"44@28.Let me know and your in.
I'm in.....send me a PM for where to ship.
Joe D just came on board to do an arrow. We still Need two more.
We need just one more!
ttt....one more arrow builder...cmon guys...one lousy arrow left.
I've got one I'd be happy to donate, but it's cut to 29.5" from the throat of the nock to BOP...it's 56# in spine I believe. It's the first one I made as a prototype for some guys to test and I don't think this particular arrow is gonna go to anyone. There's some slight flaws, such as some tiny floating particles got into the yellow cresting paint (hard to see), which prompted me to move my cresting operation from the shop into the house ( :D ) but it's a very good quality arrow nonetheless. I can post pics of it, it has 5" parabolic yellow camo feathers, it's barrel tapered, and it has a maple colored stain. It has a spar urethane under gasket lacquer finish which looks very nice.
Let me know,
Craig
So were do we send them? I have some made up that are 50#-55#, 30.5" bop, tip tapered.
send them to lpcjon2
I would if I had an address......?
Just email it, snag.

elkherder, I thought you'd never notice. :D
Killdeer~ Tag reads "HEYOKA"
you choke on something killy? heyoka?????
:D :D :biglaugh: :D :D
Will finish mine this weekend and send off. We are leaving these full lenght right? I can cut and install point if you like, just tell me what lenght.....
guess just leave them full length...never know who's gonna win,may be a 30" draw.
I cut and tapered mine to 30.5" bop thinking they may not be able to do this and that if they do there is enough shaft if they need it shorter...?
Mine is cut and tapered to 29.5" BOP.
Craig
whatever works for you guys.
ok I'll do mine @30" BOP. 1 @ 29.5 and 1 @ 30.5 I'll do mine in the middle. I'll post a picture tomarrow.......
I just received my 2 raw shafts yesterday. Will begin work on them this weekend....
sounds good mark
Well this is the finished arrow. are we puting field points on them or Broadheads? I think I might have a "DeadHead" laying around...
Mark, I think we were going to leave them un-headed due to whoever wins them may have a short draw.
These arrow builders are above and beyond my league of talent, but if you want to make it a Bakers dozen, I'll donate this one. (http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/Bowferd/DSC02644.jpg)
I'm currently working on a half dozen, spine and weight matched for the auction.
Fred
Send it in My address is on page 3 or 4
Tim, I'll get it wrapped up and send Monday morning. What kind of signature on the shaft do you want?
I go "Cimple Arras". This spines out at 65-70, 473gr w/ the 165gr trade point.
Tim, are we suppose to sign, date or put anything on these arrows? I'll put a card with the arrow specs in with the arrow...
sign it and date it mark....poooooof....i'm goin yote huntin...seeeeee yaaaaaaa.
Packaged mine up today, did'nt get a picture done but here are the spec's, full length Canadian made Hex Pine shaft, Purple Heart nock, Snake skin Crown, spliced White and wild Turkey feathers, and a little Silver and Orange cresting to finish it all of, 55# spine.
Looking pretty good if I might say so myself :saywhat: She's going in the mail on Monday.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's handy work.
Regards.
Bert.

lpcjon,
Thanks! Glad it got there safe and sound. Those are the camo Gateway feathers and I love the looks of 'em too. The cut I did on them is kind've a hybrid between a parabolic and banana cut, leaning towards parabolic.
Craig

TTT
I'd be happy to make another arrow, Tim.
That will work Rick. Then just five more and we have a second dozen for the auction.Anyone want in you don't have to be a pro.
i cannot get this bow signed refinished and everything else done in time.i am working on something thats top secret plus battling three health issues at the same time. the lump in my chest,a very bad tooth and not having dental coverage anymore, and now i have contracted(discoid lupus erythematous) sounds fatal huh? its a rash like thing thats itchy and from what i have read can be dormant in you for years before it pops up...oyyyyyy...wish my good luck would show up i need a dose or two of it i'm tellin ya.now my son just got a new job so our trip panning gold and shootin trad bows is off.dang man i was really wanting to go on that trip,i needed it for sanity sake.lpcjon2 can hang onto the arrows and quiver when it gets finished until next years auction.i hope everyone understands this.i just dont see it happening in time for this year.if you have any complaints or questions pm me please..sorry guys but my health has had me running in circles.
Unless anyone has any objections we can auction the stuff off this year and next year start again.I think we would have no problem with getting arrows and a quiver donated for next year as well.
Larry if you need anything don't hesitate to give a shout.Get well soon. And PM me your addy I have some good luck I will send you.
i need a bucketfull of it man...just started the p90x workout system and its hard with ailments coming at me left and right bro.i'm a coastal boy though and this wont stop me.nothing will,i hunted one year with carl while i had a deviated septum from being in a 60mph head on with another driver who was in my lane on a corner.still went hunting..still tagged a bull..us trad hunters are tough boy.
It's something someone gave me to wear and I don't mind passing it on.I believe it helps.
TTT
