I recently found that I shoot a lot better with my Selway off of my bows. I am an avid hunter and I am lloking for a hunting quiver that is versitile for the following 3 things...
-Deer hunting from the ground - 3 to 4 broadhead arrows and a couple judos
-squirrel hunting - 7-9 arrows (some BH's some Judos)
3D and Range shooting - Lots of target arrows.
I tried the GFA and got it in the mail the other night. It was not my cup of tea. I made my own tube style side quiver but used small PVC and can only hold 4 target arrows, and 1 3-blade Snuffer comfortably.
Thanks,
Matt
I use the Jack Bowers "Chief" side quiver, they can be seen at 3 Rivers or Bowyersedge.com...PR
Matt,
I have had good performance from this quiver. I believe 3 Rivers sells them.

I use an arrowmaster quiver.
Rod's gear works fantastic for all your needs. Made by hunters for hunting
His reputation and that of his customer service is bar none :clapper:
Good luck

Safari Tuff Arrow Master.
Very nice quiver, looks light weight too.
I have this love-hate thing with quivers. Bow quivers, back quivers, side quivers, you name it...I am always looking to toss out the old and get something "better".
I have had the Arrow Master for several years now...I've tried to toss it...I have...I just cannot find anything that fits the 'better side" of the equation.
Get a GOOD Hill Style backquiver!!!!!
Use it for stumping and 3-D shoots first, then out on a few squirrel hunts..... Once you get used to using it and it gets comfortably molded to your back, you will find it both very comfortable AND practical!!!!!
I keep my Selway on my Mikuta longbow all year long. Many times a bowquiver is really the only practical way to go. However,I LOVE my backquiver and it is the only one I use when I take any of my old Bear recurves out for a walk, either stumping or hunting. For 3-D,it holds more arrows than I'll ever need(ALOT)and the only one I will use. Keep the strap loose and learn to master the "Backquiver Bump". Most guys wear thier quivers too tight, they can't slide it down under thier bow arm when going through the brush and this is where they encounter problems. If the quiver is loose,it just hangs down behind your back. You develope a knack for walking sideways through brush, and when you get in the REALLY thick stuff you pull it down almost horizontaly under your bow arm. When you get out of the thick stuff, just slide it back behind you. If you shoot and you need another arrow, take your bow arm elbow and "bump" the quiver up into possition where the top is about even with the top of your shoulder, and you will easily be able to reach the nocks of your arrows.
you could make your own quiver. like the one above or like this one that i made. i don't have this one anymore though

Hunterace, that is a very nice quiver, where could I find some plans on how to make one myself? How many hunting arrows will that one hold?
Great success with a side quiver for 20+ years before switching to backquiver 3 years ago. Once you get used to the function of the BQ, you'll like it. Neither do I care to shoot with anything attached to my bow.
I like my HnH Quiver too

Very versatile in the field
Hi all. I dont like a quiver attached to my bow so this year I started using the Safari Tuff side quiver. I got it from 3 Rivers. I think it is the best thing sense MRE's. I carry three Broadheads, several small game and a stumper or two with no problem.

Shrew Manntis - sorry dont have a pic yet
Here is the Bandalaro quiver by Thunderhorn. You can use a belt or make a strap (like Gene Wensel does).

I too have the Safari Tuff Arrow Master and I really like it.
my family uses hip quivers that i made. (http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy138/chopperziggy/009.jpg)
A Hill style x2
Safari Tuff Arrowmaster, or Art Vincent's "O.L. Adcock Stalker". Both work excellent but I'd use a fletch cover with the Stalker...
Safari-Tuff Arrowmaster. I've been using one since they came out, and have tried hard to find something wrong with them--I can't. I've spent a small fortune in quivers over the years--wish Rod had come out with these things sooner, I could have bought another house with the money I would have saved (well, maybe not quite, but....)
It's a lot like Rod--it won't win any beauty contests, but when it comes to getting the job done I haven't found a better option.

I would totally recommend getting one of Rod Jenkins's Safari-Tuff Quivers. I like mine a lot!!!

I have both Safari Tuff and Dawgware quivers.
I love them both, and would be hard-pressed to tell you which is better. My Dawgware doesn't have foam in the bottom, so if you HAVE to stick your arrowheads in foam, you will have to add that.
Love them both, and it is a real timesuck deciding which goes with me on a given jaunt. Both of them have arrows in them at all times.

the best side quiver for me is unquestionably the safari tuff arrowmaster OR duiker. i have both. the quality of each is superb, as expected from such a fine gentleman as rod jenkins.

I must be the strange one because I wouldn't part with my Cat Quiver. It's combined with my day pack , and keeps my feathers dry. The only disadvantage is that I'm short, so I must remove it in order to sit.

I own a Safari tuff and love it. I've drug that puppy through everything, ripped the fletch cover off, got it all mudy, got snow in it, drug it through some thick woods (basically one monstrous bush) and it works really well.
I'm looking at a Catquiver 3 or 3 1/2 right now though because I'm likin the pack space. I know you can wear a pack with the Arrow master but I'm just tryin stuff out. Heard great things about both. The duiker sounds awesome but no pocket right?
I like the Dawg Ware quivers myself. There are a couple different styles of them but the TimO version of the Dawg Ware is a little less expensive if cost is an issue. It is a little smaller than the other model and the bigger model has pockets. They sell them at 3 rivers also.
