Title: 1/4 shafts for kids arrows
Post by: Greg Gilliland on January 28, 2010, 07:53:00 PM
Where is the cheapest place to find 1/2 shafts for my 4 year old son? He is just stating to shoot and for now I think anything will work.

Thanks Greg

Local hardware store should have something like that. Small wood dowels are great for kids arrows, I think you'll spend less than a dollar per shaft.

I get them from  www.woodcrafter.com (http://www.woodcrafter.com)   1/4" birch dowels.  I buy them around $16/100.  Most make suitable arrows.

I buy 48" dowels from the big hardware stores. I like the 5/16 shafts to make them a little more durable. I cut the dowel in half so I get 2 arrows out of each dowel. I like making arrows so I have to make them pretty  :bigsmyl:
