Title: Elk Hunt
Post by: Grayseas on January 28, 2010, 07:58:00 AM
My son( 16yrs old) and I are looking to plan an Elk Hunting Trip. We would like to find an out fitter who specializes in bow hunting. We are in the early stages of planning, so we are open to... where ever there is a good herd. (Some place we can get tags easily). We would like to do this hunt in the next 2 year.

Colorado would likely be your first choice and there are a lot of hunters on this site that can point you in the right direction.

Try a search on "guided elk Colorado" to get the ball rollin'....

Enjoy the journey AND the hunt!

Shoot straight, Shinken

Eli,

I am a sponsor here and am sending you a PM with some information on hunts we offer.

I have been strictly a bowhunter for the past 15 years or so and know about the need of a trad bowhunter getting close.  Over the past several years I have been able to post several threads here on this site about some of the hunts I have been fortunate to do.  We have a great area with lots of elk and I know a little bit about hunting them.

You might want to contact Mark Horne at Hornes Archery.

His brother is the largest outfitter in Colorado and Mark guides for him, so he knows what a trad guy needs.

I believe they sport a 100% opportunity.

Good luck,

Paul

If I were you, looking for a bowhunting outfitter for elk, I would sure take a look at Mule Creek with John. Beautiful area, lots of game, and the man knows elk!
