Well was looking through a thread on this years Deer kills and saw a beutiful Mulie. Figured I would post a pic of a Mulie I have been trying to bag for three years now. Actually missed him in 2008. One of these days Mulie one of these days!

He is the bad boy in the top left. Wouldn't mind stickin the one on the right either.
Hollow out one of them hay bales man.
Beautifull animals,hope you get em'.
Alberta is a game paradise. I would have to break my bear addiction so I could chase all the mule deer and whitetails!!
Let us know when you do get him killed.

Yowzer!! Ya he is a dandy!! Do you have any closer pics and what do you think he would score?
Hollow out a bale??? Not too far off track. You could build a wire blind disguised as a bale....think about it.
Hmmmmmmmm??????
Awesome picture...Fido Dog has a good idea. Double Bull makes a haybale blind/kit, but its fairly pricey.
Take a double bull. Go to the hardware store and get enough 1/4" bunji cord (they sell it bulk) to go around twice. Put one below and one above the bales. Put grass, hay, whatever in and they just don't notice it.
Forget the Double Bull. Just get some wire at a fraction of the price and start weaving hay in it. I'm cheap...LOL!
borrow a hay bale blind from a goose hunter... you might have to sneak out to shoot- but it might work..
just get some fine mesh chicken wire and form it how you want then stuff the holes with long dry grass....perfect blind.my buddy did it and worked like a charm.just cut the edge off each side and wire sections together or overlap the edges and use twine to tie them together.chicken wire(fencing) is very formable and cheap to buy.works great.
good luck, next yr might be the yr. world class mulies up in your neck of the woods, i have seen some of the mule deer that come out of peace river...200"+ every yr!
If that is your land why not put a few of thoose bales together and a tarp on the open side. If it sits out all season it should not spook the deer.

Yes I would go with the double Bull Hay bale Blind,on my Antelope Hunt last year I had four Mulie Bucks come right in to the waterhole I was hunting,I was in a double Bull Blind they paid it no attention.
Good Luck with that mulie. Look forward to seein you holdin' him up next fall!

Thats an awesome pic! What time of day was this taken??
I killed my only mule deer on a hunt in Alberta. Setup was very similar to what is in your picture. We saw a mule deer bedded on the far side of a quarter section of mostly oats. There was a strip of alfalfa on the far end and we watched the mule deer bed down. I spent about an hour stalking up on him in my bare feet. The mud was cold, but quiet. I had the wind in my face and used those round bales to block his view as a stalked up on him. He stood up when I got to the bale 12 yards away and took an arrow from me. Short blood trail, nice 4x6 with a drop tine, in velvet.
Your only problem is too many eyes watching you with all those deer hanging around. If you could catch one of them alone you should be able to put a stalk on him.
Hey Justin ,My son is a Firefighter in Grande Praire and a bowhunting nut.He helps his buddy Rick Houeling who owns Kawka outfitters as a Moose and Elk guide in the fall.Great country.I hope to make a hunt up there next year. All the best.
