If you were to buy the new Sky 17 inch ILF riser, what limbs would you buy for around $200 for it? I prefer longbow, but I know that limits the options. Thanks for your opinions and experiences.
Without a doubt, I would get the TradTech Black Max Carbons. Best limb out there at the price. (220.00)
The only longbow limb in that price range would be the TT glass wood limb. (180.00) Also a very nice limb.
I would get the Black Max limbs from Tradtech or one of their similar longbow limbs. Their limbs are made my Samick which produce some of the top limbs in the world right now and you can't beat the price of the Black Max for what you get.
The Black Max is a recurve limb. The longbow limb with carbon is a lot more money.
TT does have a longbow limb that is pretty good for around $200.
We have a bamboo core ILF longbow limb for $300.
I believe the rest of the LB limbs are a lot more.
Mike
For recurve I have the black max wood/glass. Really nice limbs. I like you am fixing to get some longbow limbs. Thinking about Dryads new longbow limbs, but they are around $325. I have read a lot of posts and the TT glass/wood longbow limb seems to be a good limb, the only drawback I hear is they have a really high brace height. Some say 8 1/2 others say they shoot best at 8 3/4. I know you can read a review at peteward.com. Higher brace height may lose a little performance, but less chance of arm slap with heavy hunting clothing.
Sky Archery has a longbow ilf limb #349.00
Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it.
Just received a SKY ILF longbow 17"= 64" bow carbon foam limbs with bocote veneers, walnut film dipped riser, mine cost more than $200 ( limbs )but there are other options. cheers Pete.p.s. great shooter !
If you're looking for a sub-$200.00 ILF longbow limb, there's only one option that I'm aware of, and that's the TradTech wood/glass limbs. You'd need to buy them 5#'s lighter than you're wanting for that 17" riser too.
Right now, I think there's only four manufacturers of ILF compatible longbow limbs: TradTech, Morrsion, Sky, and Dryad.
Jim,
I think Black Swan also has one, I'm not sure if it is totaly ILF or not??
