I am thinking about some limbs in waterfall bubinga. If you have a bow like that I would love to see some wood combo's.
ME TOO!!! I been looking at bubinga for my next one.
If you look at my thread called Zipper's show bows for Kalamazoo. You will see some bubinga pomolle veneers and one riser waterfall bubina in it.We also have some on our website under "Riser wood Examples".They may give you some ideas.I realy like bubinga it is very strong and easy on the eyes.It is also not to oily so it is pretty easy to work in that respect, but it is very hard.Did I mention it was hard? :D

Me either.
Got it. Thanks
didn't work for me either but it wworks fine if you type it in.
A buddy of mine had a Blacktail built with a footed waterfall bubinga riser and waterfall bubinga limb veneers, beautiful to say the least. He messed up and sold it to someone here on TradGang awhile back. I bet it still haunts him at night!
A word of advice, it seems tricky to get a piece with enough figuring to look good in a limb veneer, so be sure to look the piece over real well before you give it the okay. I've seen several that were lackluster.

I made this bow with bubinga riser and black glass. Limbs are bamboo with water fall bubinga veneers. Mike

Mike do you have a better shot of your veneers?
I have some Mottled Bubinga this piece is 4 1/2 inches wide, I plan to use this for veneers, I also have some Curly Bubinga haven't taken any pics of it yet. I think both are gonna look good under clear glass. (http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt46/Robertfishes/mottledbubinga.jpg)
Xtrema312- Here are two pics of un-finished limb and the third is finished.

The TallTines bow that Steve O. posted is my bow as well. I will have it at Trad Expo in Kalamazoo Mich this weekend in Brian's booth if anyone wants to check it out. Mike
Thanks Mike. Those look great. I will check out the bow at the show. I can hardly wait. Should be a lot of fun again this year.
i've made a couple w/ bubinga lams--boo cores and they handled great--you don't have to use them as veneers--sorry no pics
Great bow Mike and heck of a buck. I too want to make my own bow some day. See ya at the show this weekend.
:archer:That waterfall bubinga is beautiful,it always gives one ideas for another recurve.
