Well, I got the 15 year old set up with his Bear Cub after school today ("pics of painted bear cub thread) and he shot tremendously well for his first time at 8 yards in the garage.
I had to stop him from shooting more than 3 arrows at a dot because he was starting to nick arrows already.
I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn the first time I shot and he's nicking arrows already. He has a lot to learn, as do I, but it was nice to see him enjoying shooting.
He told me afterwards that he never liked the "sight" on the wheels - he said it was too much work to hold the pin on a target and not fun.
Welcome another trad hunter to the fold.

I've got a 4 year old that has perfect form and great hand eye cordination...he just has fun shooting. I took him to Cloverdale and Comptons last year and he loved it. I can't wait untill this year.

You might as well get used to it! hahaha!!!
My daughter(Woogchilde) has a lot of natural ability and puts me to shame anytime I try shooting with her.
I just tell myself "that's my kid!" get a big ole grin and tell her "you just wait til next time!"
Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the journey!
God bless,Mudd

Natural ability, or blessed with a good teacher. I know that when I started shooting, I caught up to my dad fairly quickly. Not based on my own natural ability. But I benefited from my dad's years of trial and error.

LOL- we'll take "blessed with a good teacher" out of the equation as I have only been shooting for about 4 weeks now - hehe.
