Teased a few of you last night, but here are the pics of Trey opening up Squirrel's generous, unbelievable present he sent him! Wow, what a quiver!
We both got to talk with Mike today. It was awesome to be able to thank him over the phone rather than through the forum. He sounds like a riot to hang out with. Who knows, perhaps some day us Wisconsinites can venture down for some hog hunting. I think Mike said he was heading out to help Ray in South Carolina?
Unfortunately Mike said it will be a few more days before his computer is back up, so he may not reply to this thread just yet.

Not sure what he is doing here. I think it is his combo archery/bodybuilding pose - lol.
Thanks again Mike/Squirrel Bait - you made his day! This forum is truly great!

Your envious, I wanted to steal it and buy him a cheap $20 plastic quiver for his birthday - lol.
Now I have to convince the wife to try to make one for my other son and I. Squirrel gave me a few hints, but if anyone has a solid "pattern" for a back quiver, it would be great.
Tim
great gift.
Now that is cool
It is cool. I can't wait to get the pics to Mike.
Tim
Sweet man that's what it is all about!
When I said "what he lacks in looks, he makes up for in heart", I forgot to mention it takes a LOT of heart to make up for those looks!
Mike, hope you are reading this. Great job, and hope all is well with you--give me a holler sometime--I'm hoping to get over that way before too long.
On the quiver, I don't have his skils, but one thing I can reccomend--make a pattern out of paper, and tinker with it before you start cutting leather--it's a whole lot cheaper.
Chad
Very nice!

Mike said his computer will be down for a bit yet and I believe he said he was going down to help Ray H. with a hog hunt. Hopefully he'll be back online in a week or so.
About paper, even if I find a good pattern, I think I'll have my wifey work with paper first.
Tim
I had the pleasure of hunting with Mike at Rays a few weeks ago...He had me cracking up most of the time...great guy to share camp with.
How'd that hunt go Jacobs? After Mike doing us a favor like this, I'd love to save up some money for a trip like that some day. I had never considered hunting hogs before, but it sounds like guys have a lot of fun.
Tim
very nice
Very Cool! :clapper: :clapper:

Yeah Mike is a great guy. Them boys in SC are a hoot to hang out with.
OK Guys, I'm back. Tim It was great to talk to you two the other day. Hope Trey had a wonderful birthday. Hope the quiver brings him as much joy as it brought me.
way cool :clapper:
The grin tells the story. Good job Mike.
Hey Mike:
Glad to see you are back online. I am guessing we will meet up some day, perhaps over a hog hunt. We've never done it and have never been down "south." It's not like the movie "Deliverance" is it down there? lol After all, the guys that have shared camp with you have made some strange references about "camping" at Ray's.
It is fun to see him shooting with the quiver on his back. He really does love it. The only problem is that hunting season is so far away. I think we'll have to take up stump shooting this spring.
Thanks again and I'll keep you updated on his and my other son's progress. If good things happen over the next few months, maybe I can get him down there this summer before he starts college.
I found 3 low poundage bows through the help of this forum and one other for a grand total of $180. They probably aren't beauties, but it fit our current budget and will get us on the fast track to becoming proficient bow hunters. Your generosity has certainly helped.
Tim
That is a cool present!
