I've received so many positive comments on the recent Traditional Bowhunter Magazine cover that I'm looking into producing a large print of my original photography to be donated to PBS for the Nashville auctions, or however they want to use it for a good cause. The plan is to either have it printed using archival pigments on acid free artist's paper or perhaps a Giclée, which would reproduce the image on fine stretched canvas. Either method is expensive, however it would last a lifetime in the hunter's den or on the lady of the house's favorite wall, etc.:^)
Here is a proof I just did (20X30") shot in my studio. Compared to the original TBM cover - well, it's BIG:^) AS Gene Wensel would say, "stay tuned".

Very nice!
Awseome
I love it!!!!!!!!
That is great STUFF!!
:notworthy:
Gary, that will be hard to beat. Great Job.
Shick
Even my wife commented on how nice that cover was.
Easy on the eyes!!!
Thanks everyone. I hope it all works out for PBS. Steve, Rob was suppose to be working with Todd Smith on getting a site going. In the meantime he's doing shows and selling clothes.
Outstanding!
Gary,
Do you need my address? I've got just the place for it! Nice work indeed.
Excellent work, Gary. That was a great cover for sure.
Hello fello Classic Bowman, my apology for not getting my web site completed -- it will get done. I will become a sponsor soon--
I have some jackets in stock now- and hats are in the works-- these are quality sewn here in the USA. The wool is produced on looms that are over 100 years old here in the USA
I have about 4 different colors--- I am planning production for fall 2010 and 2011 !!! It take months to produce quality sewn jackets-- I have two styles-- " The Rover" and the Double Rover (cape) a great heavy vest is planned --
Called the Woolie Bugger Vest ---
both jackets are 20 oz wool--
For all those that have bought my clothing -- Many Thanks for your support-- Rob Tiberio-- CBSW
That's just plain beautiful!
I wish you all didn't care so much about how you "look!"
no picture for me? whether I refresh or not.
Gary, really liked the cover shot, outstanding job!
Rob
I look forward to your clothing line. Any chance that you will be doing the midwest Deer and Turkey Expo's this spring???
Specifically the one in Ohio???
I just can't stop looking at that cover
sssssweet!!
Gary, that really is a beauty.
Gary,
You need to do something similar with a 1968 Super Kodiak. I'd buy a BIG one of those!
You should think about doing a calendar of classic bows in classic settings:
1959/60 Kodiak
1967 1/2 Super K
An old Grumbley
B Handle Takedown
Gamemaster Jet
Savage Deathmaster
Some Ben Pearson or Wing
A Paul Schafer Silvertip
Asbel Bighorn
Black Widow
Footed Riser Blacktail
Howard Hill
That would be a pretty cool format
I thought that was one of the best TBM covers I've ever seen. Awesome Job!! Jason
I'm overwhelmed; thanks again guys. You all have inspired the gears in this old head to start turning again.
QuoteI wish you all didn't care so much about how you "look!"
Outstanding Job! It would be nice to be able to purchase a copy .would look great on the wall.If you ever did a calender like SteveO suggested ,mark me down.
Great cover pic. I immediately contacted Ribin and asked who made the coat and hat.
Rob, is that your clothing ??
Gary, great photo and cover.
Rob, does that hat have a short "Bowhunter's brim". If so I am definately interested in one in that color. Gonna have any with you at Whittingham this year?
I really like the looks of the pictures and the clothes, high quality on both! Nice job!
Thanks Jason. Went to your website, nice looking bows!
Where can I get a Double Bull in plaid?
Don't know Bill, we'll have to look into that:^)
Gary,
I also e-mailed Robin and commented on the cover. Please do sell the large versions so I can have something traditional to hang on my office wall.
This is for Rob because he hasn't given out his e-mail address and I wanted to tell him how great his jacket and hat are. I would like one of each in that plaid. Gary, if you would pass this on to him I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Steve O, I think that would be a great idea! I'd buy one for sure.
That picture sure is easy to look at Gary. Do you have any early ideas on what the price would be? Or are you making just the one print?
Gary, That is very nice. Congrats. Are you sure you are donating it to the PBS? I am going to try and make it this year.
Its funny, I was just getting ready for my big rabbit hunt in the morning when I noticed my old head must be getting bigger because my short brimmed stormy Kromer hat is too tight and I need a new one. I looked them up to find out they don't make them any more. I thought to myself that the hat on the TBM cover looked like a short brim good quality hat. I logged onto tradgang to ask if anyone knows who makes that hat. Thats when I noticed this post.
Now how do I get my hands on one and how much?
Thanks
Matt Houska
Yep Jake, PBS will get the first one, well actually the second one, since my wife insisted that she has a spot on the wall already picked out. All of you married fellows know that drill:^( So yes, as soon as I'm finished negotiating with the three print services I'm talking to it will be a done deal. If I can get the quality I want, then I may release more prints in the future.
Matt, you can contact the maker of those hats here: rtiberio@aol.com
Matthew, it might happen if I get the quality I desire. I want prints that will last at least 2-3 generations:^) before any noticable deterioration. To get that in the "digital age" I need my images produced using pigmented inks (not dyes, as most are) and archival (100% acid free cotton)paper or quality artist's canvas. Those will last for generations. THe technology is there and I'm working on applying it. When the first print is done it must be RIGHT.
OK, the first (and hardest) set of negotiations are officially over. PBS will get the first artist approved, signed and numbered print, my wife had agreed to accept one of the artist's proofs.
You do some Fantastic Work Gary!! I am Impressed by your Cover, and I Think your Idea Would Be a Great Idea for the PBS Hootenanny!! :archer: :clapper:
How about maybe a Smaller One for St. Judes this Year? :goldtooth:
Thanks everyone. I'll continue to post updates. The next step is to finalize the details of what I want with a top-notch printer.
Gary, Great cover! Keep us posted on your progress with printing etc.
I like it!
I realy like the calendar idea. Some classic curves, lonbows and selfbows. Oh yeah I'd have one every year!
Kris
I've been working with a printing service in Madison Wisconsin today trying to iron out all the details of producing the best possible archival print to donate to the PBS Gathering. I'll have a proof to look at next week.
