I want to start my "wish list". Please post pics if you are able. As you all know, without your generosity, PBS would not be able to continue funding our many programs, projects, scholarships, etc. at a high level. Thank you!
Back in August at the youth hunt we had a discussion about donating items for the youth program. One of the ideas was for everyone to make something related to the hunt and the proceeds to go to future youth hunts. I had already made a 48" recurve for just this purpose. The bow is 30#@24". That would make it a legal hunting bow here in Wisconsin. I hope this bow finds a good home and some youngster can get their lifelong obsession with hunting launched with it. Anyway with that bow to get things rolling here how about if all of the participants make a little something to go along with bow to either be auctioned one piece at a time or a set. At least it could be displayed as a group effort of the youth hunt. I think this would be a nice gesture to say thanks to Guy, Rich and the multitude others that made this last hunt possible. I'll start by posting my pictures.

It is 56@28 and 62". Shoots very nice if I say so myself.
Made a string to go with it too!
Kevin, I've received so many positive comments on my recent Traditional Bowhunter Magazine cover that I'm looking into producing a large print of the original photography to be donated to PBS for the Nashville auctions, or however you guys want to use it. The plan is to either have it printed using archival pigments on acid free artist's paper or perhaps a Giclée, which would reproduce the image on fine stretched canvas. Either method is expensive, however it would last a lifetime in the hunter's den or on the lady of the house's favorite wall, etc.:^)
Here is a proof I just did (20X30") shot in my studio. Compared to the original TBM cover - well, it's BIG:^) AS Gene would say, "stay tuned".

Truly some great items guys!
I'm making a set of arrows. Any particular requests?
We have some Talent here at Tradgang....
Kevin,
Can't send a photo, yet...but Wendell Fox and I are building a custom skinner in damascus, with mosaic pins, and hippo ivory handle with a custom sheath.
I'll take pics when I get her done. Have a bunch of custom orders to get through first...many are being very patient with me.
Here ya go Kevin, haven't sent it yet, just finished the sheath. 5 1/4" Damascus blade and moose horn, sorry for the crappy picture.

Sure wish I could make it but just aint gonna happen this year... Y'all will just have to have all that fun without me.
Here's something I found cleaning out a closet. If I could only find a good use for it. :)
All three items are signed by Fred Bear. The arrow belonged to Fred and was given to a friend of mine who is now deceased. I acquired these items from his widow and had them mounted in a shadowbox.
Got any ideas Kevin?

That is not a chip along the bottom of the frame, only the end of a tassel from a pillow.
Doug;
Were you trying your knife out on your finger?
Looks like it worked.LOL
Jim
When your always around all this sharp stuff and power tools chances are your gonna have a bandaid on something Jim... ;)
All I can say so far is WOW! Cliff, I know a place that would look good hanging in my house, you too, Gary! And those bows, and knives, and arrows, and ...
Looks like I'd better get busy working some overtime before the banquet!
Whoa! The craftsmanship, artistic talent and generosity of PBS people never ceases to amaze me. This is going to be a special gathering for sure.
By the way, for those not in attendance last time, that bow Brandon Stahl donated to our last auction was, in my opinion, the single prettiest bow I have ever laid my eyes on! And I've seen some beauties. I can't remember who bought it, but the guy got a steal!
I've been working with a printing service in Madison Wisconsin today, trying to iron out all the details of producing the best possible archival print to donate to the PBS Gathering. I'll have a proof to look at next week.
Dang!! all those right handed bows.. wish some folks would feel sorry for the "proper" handed folks and donate some lefty's ;)
Those bows are beautiful!
You just never know, Andy. SOMEtimes, if you are the lucky bidder or winner, the bowyer will make one to your specs. All you have to do is ask.
Got an email from Gene: he is going to donate another bronze shed antler. Way Cool!
I don't have the skills to craft anything worthwhile, but I do have this to donate (bowholder not included):

I won it at the SLC banquet, such a sweet bow for a lady or youth...
It was supposed to be for my wife, but it has not been shot in over a year and this bow is too pretty to be neglected like that...
I'd like the money it brings to go towards the Youth Hunt program.
Wow! Beautiful bow, and it's too bad your wife didn't take to shooting it, it is pretty cool that it is coming back around to raise money for PBS a second time.
I've been trying to think about how I might be able to help. Would a certificate for a free bow weight reduction and/or refinishing job be usable to the committee? Or maybe if someone has a nice old bow that is in need of a facelift we could team up and redo one for the banquet?
I'm open to ideas, and would like to help somehow.
Whip, that would probably work really well in the bucket raffle, I bet that bucket would be full of tickets and guys would be going back for more to try an win their favorite lady a makeover!
I'll talk with Greg tomorrow and offer it up. There's bound to be someone that fell down a mountain with their bow that needs a facelift! (The bow I can help - the PBS'r is on their own ;) )
Before I could change my mind, I UPSed the shadow box with three, Fred Bear signed articles to the Tennessee colection center. :)
From the looks of what I've seen already, I need to bring mo' money.
That is beautiful !!! I know I'll be bidding on it especially since I have a super Wildcat and know how great they shoot !
Brandon,
Gorgeous bow. Better story!
Kyle
Brandon, that is AWESOME! Thank you! I can hardly wait til the banquet is here. I wonder what I can do to pass the time til then? LOL!
Just got done looking at the edit copy of the next PBS magazine. So far, there's two entire pages of donated items. I'll be like a kid in a candy store!
Those are beautiful bows and some very gracious items donated. This will be my first gathering and I am super excited. May everyones travels be safe.

Kevin, I have a test print of the original cover photo I shot for the current issue of TBM on the way to me from Madison Wisconsin. The image is approx. 20X30" with a narrow white border. The image consists of pigmented inks (not dyes) on 100% cotton rag (acid-free) archival paper. It should last for generations without noticable degrading. Once I approve the image I intend on releasing a signed and numbered limited edition print of the photo. I am donating print #1 to PBS for the Nashville Gathering. Stay tuned as I might be posting a photo of the print here a bit later.
Fantastic donations guys!
Brandon, you're not helping my bow buying disease :help:
Bryan
Sounds awesome, Gary. We are getting lots of positive comments on the recent PBS covers that you've done. We really appreciate your efforts. Thank you!
Glad to help out Kevin.
A couple of PBS members stepped to the PBS booth at Kalamazoo and made some more awesome donations: from Ben Dodge, a Nebraska deer/turkey hunt; and from David Darling, a 3 day Michigan ice fishing adventure!
I received the first proof from the printer and it came out a bit too dark. I'm having them tweak the image some and will post here when everything's the way I want it. Other than being a bit dark, it's looking very nice.
New proof due in the mail today. If it's what I want I'll post it when I get back from the Pig Gig.
While on the recent Pig Gig hunt #2, Iowa PBSer Doug Clayton walked up and handed me a really nice Badlands Pack for a banquet donation. Thanks, Doug! We will put it to good use!
Got the corrected print back and it turned out great. Now I'm off to see about getting it matted and framed . . . will post a photo when it's "Banquet Ready".
My wife Donnie and I will be donating an "Alaskan Vacation". We will share our rural home on the Kenai Peninsula, bed and breakfast style.
The time period and duration is negotiable. We have two kayaks, an inflatable canoe, two motorized Mokai kayaks available. I can set up bear baits if desired, help arrange charter fishing trips or other site-seeing trips, other fishing available is the Russian and Kenai Rivers which are close by. What do YOU want to do in Alaska?
Some meals included too and my Samurai wife is an awesome cook. I guarantee I am the only guy in Alaska that has his personal Samurai to cook for him most every night, lol!
Also opportunities for black bear hunting in alpine, spot and stalk, split trips so you can venture to other parts of Alaska, etc.
Awesome, Steve!
This is our St. Joe River Longbow we are donating just doing the final steps today.

Love the contrasting wood colors! Cool!
Here are a few pictures of my Shawn Peterson tribute bow for the banquet. Like Shawn was always doing I had to think of something nobody else had done so I came up with a set of limb bolt washers to go with the bow.

Beautiful work, Monte!
Well, I got a chance to fondle the bow that has been donated by St. Joe River bows. All I can saw is...outstanding! Really sleek lines and the color combination looks even better in person. Nice to meet David as well. Great job guys and thank you!
After working overtime with my printing service to assure top quality, I finally have a photo of the actual framed limited edition print that will be donated for auction at the Nashville PBS Gathering. The original image was used on the Feb/Mar. issue of Traditional Bowhunter Magazine. A copy of TBM is included in the attached photo so you can see how large the final print is. The PBS print is signed and numbered #1 of 500. The image is printed on heavy 100% acid free Sterling Rag cotton paper using pigmented archival inks. The matting is also 100% cotton archival. Finally, the solid hardwood frame is stained mahogany. The end result is a museum quality piece for the hunter's den or office.

Awesome donation, Gary!
I was handed another one at our recently concluded UBI (United Bowhunters of Illinois) banquet. Larry Jones, from Illinois, has donated a necklace for the Ladies' Luncheon. It is a "miner's dollar" necklace. Really unique! Thanks, Larry!
Just so you all know, in addition to the already astounding array of donated items, we can always use some smaller things for the general raffle. This can include but are not limited to: tabs, arrows, broadheads, small prints, nocks, knives, armguards, t-shirts, books, DVD's, etc. Anything you feel someone else might like to win. And the funds raised from everything go to support PBS programs and projects.
Monte...
Thanks for adding one more reason for me to attend! All I can say is.....
Kev
What's the poundage on that beautiful little unit, Monte?
Also coming to join in the festivities: a 4 wt flyrod made and donated by PJ Petiniot. Thanks, Peej!
Bryan just finished the youth back quiver he was making. Kevin, do you know of any hunts up for auction?
I made a small neck knife for the PBS gathering. It measures overall slightly over 5 inches and has a 2 and 1/4 inch cutting edge. It is made from damascus steel and has elk antler slabs for the handle.

Wow that is nice Bill. I can't wait to see it in person.
Jack
Kevin,
The "Peterson Bow" is #55@28". It's length is 58".
Greg, there are several hunts available for the savvy shopper: without details, we have a plains game hunt in Namibia, spot and stalk black bear in BC, feral goat & hog hunt with condo on Moloka'i, bear hunt in Quebec, hog hunt in Texas, bear hunt in Alaska, etc.
These are my arrows for PBS. They include a dozen Eclipse Broadheads generously donated by Blake Fisher and will come with an MTM arrow box. Crafted from a nice set of tapered Douglas Fir shafts, they spine 66-69 lb and weigh 455-469 grains, full length without points. They may be exchanged for a different spine or design to match the winner's needs and wants.

SWEET Rick, wish I was going to Nashville myself. There will be a happy person to own these arrows. Flint
Elegant simplicity! Beautiful job, Rick!
Wish you could be in Nashville, too, Flint. My far, far better half is going with me, and I know she's have enjoyed meeting Penny...
Daryl
Beautiful job, Rick!
Nice Rick
Looking forward to seeing you guy's down there.
