I'd like to hear some feedback about this bow. If you have pictures that would be cool too. Seems like a lot of bow for the money.
Dad got one right before Christmas.
Cocobolo and Zebrawood riser with cocobolo limbs, and sheep horn on the front of the riser.
Get a beavertail grip too, great addition.
I love my Black Widow recurve, but if I were to get a long bow tomorrow it would be a Big Jim's as it shot very easy and where I pointed, the arrow went.
If dad turns his head next time I am in Georgia I may have to explain why he can't find his new bow...
Two piece or 3 piece?
I got a 2 piece and am very happy with the TD design. So far so good and the grip is nice for me.I find it to be a very stable shooting bow. With excellant quality top to bottom. No complaints here
Jim has just come out with a three piece.I would expect the same performance and quality from it.I think he has only built a few of those. So you probably wont find much feedback on it.Thier is a picture or 2 of it on a thread here I believe and the riser looks very sharp.Nice contours and not too big.
You can do a search in the Pow Wow for Big Jims Bow Company,Big Jim bows and or Buffalo bow and get alot of feedback and pics.
"Seems like alot of bow for the money"Yes,you will get your monies worth IMO.
If you are referring to the three piece, go to Georgia Outdoor News forum, traditional archery, and look for "Hogdogs set record with new bow" and you will see one.
Thanks guys, he can do a search here and find a couple pics of it too. One of our friends on this site was kind enough to post pics of it for me since i'm compurerly challenged!!
Hawk, if you don't see what your after here for pics, check out my temp page at bigjimsbowcompany.com and or email me and I can send you some specific pics if I've got them.
shoot straight and often, Bigjim

I was looking at the two-piece take-down. Anyone know the turn around time for orders?
Call BigJim, he is a real gentleman and you'll like talking bows with him

A VERY Talented Bowyer INDEED !!! & GOOD Man .....
Nice looking bows....have heard nothing but good
Hey Big Jim....any one piece recurves in the company's future?
Thanks
Glenn
Igor- Not for a while at best. I just introduced my three piece longbow last month and will re- introduce (new and improved) my forward handle rd short bow I call "thunder child" this month.
Besides, I've said way too many bad things about curves in jest that I have to at least wait until everybody forgets about that before I make one.lol
I apreciate all the good words guys.
By the way Igor, I grew up in Albany Minnesota (near St.Cloud). Miss it sometimes, but have a lot of good friends down here.
Bigjim
Big Jim is fine fellow, takes time with you and of course as a lot of people are learning, a heck of a bowyer.... but be careful when you shake hands the first time with him, feels like he could "crack a coconut" with that grip of his..... :scared:

BigJim said "and will re- introduce (new and improved) my forward handle rd short bow I call "thunder child" this month." Is this a 2 piece and do you have any photos of it? It sounds quite interesting.
Stay tuned Greg- I have finilized my design. done the testing and will now build for a couple of orders I have. When I complete those, I will post some pics. I have been testing a 56" bow and have found it to be very comfortable to shoot even at my nearly 30" draw. I won't be offering it in two piece right away, it will take further testing to do that. the handle is tilted forward and may not accept my two piece design. Time will tell.
thanks, bigjim
It seams like were in a time where we as Trad archers are definately in the Era of Bow Building and craftsmanship. There are so many great bows and Bowyers to choose from .In my fifty years of shooting a bow I have never been able to order a custom bow right from the builder .I had always wanted a two piece longbow but could never find the right combinations I was looking for.I honestly believe Big Jim truly cares about his customers needs and the reputation of his bows.I had placed an order for a One piece and couldn't fathom why I hadn't ordered a two piece and get exactly what I had always wanted for only a few dollars more. The two piece IS ordered.NOW the wait begins!
jims bows are super bows! my dad and i both have one--both 1 piece--but the 2 pc bows are super nice as well. i have shot several and they feel great as well.
the new 3 pc looks awesome, have not shot one yet, but will be orderin one very shortly!!! here that big jim??? get ready!
but the talk of this new bow may have me looking at one of them soon before i make up my mind!
you cant go wrong with a bow from bi jim. he is a very busy man and will travel a lot this coming spring/summer. i challenge all to go shoot one of his bow and see if you dont want one immediantly!!
