Title: delaminating!!! Help
Post by: OS on January 21, 2010, 09:32:00 PM
Does anyone have a suggestion for my longbow?  The belly of the top limb is beginning to deliminat alone the right edge.  I draw 29 inches on a 62" bow.  would it be safe for someone with a shorter draw or can it be saved??

Give Mike at Maddog Archery (Trad Gang sponsor) a call. He repaired a delaminating bow for me.

if you have a pic it would help...did you build it? if you did and have smooth on left I would do this..heat both parts A and B separately till they are really thin (runny). Mix and force it in with a tooth pick or something else that is thin. Then clamp it good and let cure. If you don't have smooth on you could the same thing with superglue.

It's a Thunderstick. Must be a freak thing cause Jim builds a solid bow. Drawing 29 inches shouldn't have killed it. I feel for you bud, I know it's the only one you can shoot with your shoulder out of whack.
I think there will be a bow repair booth at K-zoo Rob. I forgot who has it but I'll do some digging, hopefully he can get it fixed up before the bunny stomp.
