In the next month or so I'm going to be ordering a new Dale Stahl T/D recurve. It will look very similar to the bow in the two pics below with some minor exceptions. It will be 62" with his long riser and I'm going to ask him to shoot for 46-47#@28". I've found that weight range to be my comfort zone.

The exceptions? I prefer Bocote over Curly Maple.
So, the riser of the bow I order will have Bocote where the Red Cocobolo is located on the bow pictured and it will have Red Cocobolo where the Curly Maple is located in the pics. As for the limbs, everything will be the same except for substituting Bocote veneers over Actionboo cores for the Curly Maple veneers.
There will be a couple of other differences as well, where the riser pictured has Red Cocobolo arcs and stripes through the Curly Maple, I will ask Mr. Stahl to leave them out of my bow. And I'll talk to him and see if he can put Bocote over Red Cocobolo for the riser accents on the backside of the riser.
I've owned 5 of Mr. Stahl's bows and like the reckless trading and selling fool I am, I've let them all go. One of them had to go because at 57#@28" it was way too much for my right shoulder. The very first one I owned I sold to the owner of The Archery Shop where I go to shoot every Saturday. I've tried for the better part of 6 years to get it back from him.
He just laughs at me. He used to keep it hanging on the wall, I think just to tease me! I would take it off the hooks and shoot it a half dozen time or so everytime I went to the shop just to remind myself of how well it shot. :( :knothead:
Bill
Wildman, just how many bows do you own and just for fun how many have you owned? Inquiring minds would like to know :p .
Beautiful bow Bill....it will be a dandy.

I came THIS close to ordering a new one, but I have trouble deciding on woods. There just was a used one in the classifieds sold.
If you see a used one around 45-50#. You know who to tell  :biglaugh:
Nice bows guys.
looks niiiiiiiiice
I just received the Stahl that was on the classifieds. It's cocobolo and osage. What a smooth and comfortable bow to shoot!
Dang Bill, that bow looks right familiar to me. :bigsmyl: :archer:
Nice bows, outstanding workmanship.
Frank,
Right now I own 4 shooting bows. Over the years I've bought and sold too many for me to remember. I know its somewhere between 110 to 120 over the past 9 years, or so
Doug,
I have no idea! ;) :D That's where I came up with my idea for the bow I wanted Mr. Stahl to build for me. I've owned five of his bows and I know they are great shooting and great looking bows!
Gene-o,
I'll have to wait until I get home tonight to see the pics you have posted. The only pics I can see posted at work are from the Image Cave web picture hosting site. At least I can see the ones I post.
Bill
Gene-o,
I had Mr. Stahl build the set of limbs that are on that bow for me. Oh so sweet!! :) :D :biglaugh:

Well, it took me a bit longer than a month, but the bow is now on order. It will as close to identical to the one in my initial post as possible except all of the curly maple will be replaced by bocote and Mr. Stahl suggested putting black phenolic and maple strips either side of the intersections of the cocobolo with the bocote for accenting purposes.
Now I just have to wait 8 to 12 weeks.
Bill
Congradulations Bill-Let me know when it goes up for sale. Hap
Those are some good looking recurves !
I put my final payment for the new Dale Stahl T/D recurve in Priority Mail a week ago. I have plenty of time to wait for the bow. I don't start seriously hunting until November each year, or maybe a tad earlier, if it is unseasonably cool.
Bill
you need an intervention... LMAO
Wow, you are receiving your bow very quickly. Brandon must have received a lot of orders between yours and the 1st of April. My Super Wildcat 1-piece won't be ready until November 30.

Bowwild,
My t/D recurve is being built by Dale Stahl, not Brandon Stahl. They both build great bows.
Bill
I received an email from Dale yesterday evening. He'll be finishing my bow this weekend and shipping it early next week. I can't wait to receive it!
Bill
My Stahl is being refinished by Dale - with a weight reduction. It will also ship next week!! Dale has been busy.
Mel,
Yes sir. And Dale builds a great shooting and beautiful bow.
