Post by: Lupe on January 21, 2010, 02:49:00 PM

I have a 60", 50# longbow of Don's.  A very good bow for the money!  No doubt the quietest bow I own.  I have visited with Don on the phone and he is very personable, great to talk with.

I have one that I think is an excellent bow for the money, and a good bow even if you take the money out of the equation.

Adam,

My friend David Carpenter just told me about this bowyer today.  He really likes his a LOT, and says they are real nice shooters and PLUS they won't break the bank either.

I'm glad to see you posting and hope you have a super year!

Adam,

I just got off the phone with Don and I placed an order for 54" 50@28" hybrid longbow with 2 lams of Jatoba/Brazalian Cherry limbs, and I am still in process of picking out the handle materials.

I have heard really good things and the prices are very excellent.

Here is my bow that Don just finished, I should have it here in a few days. He took the handle down a size, as requested.

Total cost including shipping and insurance $315!

I have one of Don's bows - got it a few years ago. I have many other bows - some costing 3 times as much and I chose to hunt with his this past season. That should say something about its value. As another mentioned, it's quiet, very quiet.

I have 3 of Don's longbows. 1-30# 1-40# 1-46# I've killed deer with my 46#. Very quiet smooth drawing bows. Definatly a good bow for the money. Had to quit shooting longbow due to a bad elbow.

Are they recurves or longbows or hybrids?

Hybrid longbow is what I previous referred to them as. I think that this would be right since they defenitely aren't the "D"/Hill type longbow.
