I just purchased a 1971 S/K that is 60" and 40# at 28". Could someone recommend a brace height for this bow? Did the originals come with both a white rug rest and a white sideplate? One other question for the stringmakers among us is this. I made a ten strand B-50 for the bow and didn't pad the loops. Will this present problems? Thank you.
Rick
I would say 7&1/2" to 8" for brace, for me I don't pad the loops on my dacron strings, shouldn't be a problem at all.
I have a 69 & a 70 models and I have them both at 8 1/4 inches. They shoot great.
I love love BH and mine shoot good at 71/2.
Sorry for the mistake:I love low brace high...
I have 2 SK's and 7 ½ is about right for me. The only catalog picture of an SK I have is from '68 and it's white and white.
I don't do 10 strand B50's as a rule, so I can't advise you there; just not worth getting too hairy with bows they don't make anymore...know what I mean. Rick.
Used to keep my '74 at around 8"
Thank you guys. Now at least I have a starting point.
Rick
I'd start at 7 3/4" and work up. Most of mine shoot well at 8 1/4". They came with a white rug rest, but the ones I've seen had a black and white side plate.
