Title: St Judes Auction
Post by: Marty on January 21, 2010, 09:52:00 AM
I'm thinkin Gene Wensel oughta donate his unused Buck tag from Iowa this year- heck he could throw in his doe tags too. Should bring the kids at least face value of the tags- every little bit helps! Even Biggie could add his Georgia Tags to that- both genders. Those guys had a tough year. Rumor has it that both of them are taking coolers to Kalamazoo and accepting venison donations as they have none. Barry won't share.

Joebuck - you killed several deer this year- maybe you should take some for Gene! Good luck on your Turkey seminar up there this year!

I will donate some venison to these poor guys! I just can imagine Biggie or Gene without food! Just let me know where to send it to!! Maybe we shouldn't be bidding with dollars but rather pounds of meat!

I'd be willing to buy Biggie a snack or five at Kzoo...just look me up Bigster....Gene's on his own since I'll be helping to feed him the following week at pig gig. I do like the Marty's idea of unused tags for the kids.

That reminds me one year after guiding Jack Nicklaus I saved his bloody, notched deer tag. I framed it behind glass and donated it to the PBS banquet auction. I think it brought several hundred dollars. Surely Gene Wensel's unfilled doe tag should be at least worth that same value. bw

I'll bet Doe tag soup is better than Buck tag Soup? Not quite as musky. Deer track soup depends on where you are hunting- haven't had that in years. Joey has the best recipe-but he overcooks it alot and it gets dry. PM him and he might give it up.

That would be cool!!!

I called Barry cause he sent me two books when I ordered an extra for a friend....and he said don't worry about it...just donate it to St Judes....and that's what I'm gonna do!!!

Good guys....we are LUCKY to have them!!!!

Biggie- this is for the kids! AND I solicited free food for you and Gene-Doesn't sound like goin to war to me? Take that cooler to Kzoo that fills the back of your truck and I bet you get something to bring home! I know that thing would hold several full sized deer and maybe a small elk! What a cooler!!! Got any pic's of that thing?

I'll bid 20 bucks just to one-up the sunny hill archer dude. That's alot of doe!

Put me in for $25.

Oh and I got 4 deer this year and I don't think all the meat will survive my move next month.  I'll see if I can't pack a cooler full of steaks and breakfast sausage to take to K-zoo.  Anyone interested look for a gray Ford Escape with Indiana DAV plates.

I have a whole shoe box filled with spent and/or unused tags. What year and state do you want? Okay, I'll donate five or six unfilled deer tags from this past season. Who do I send them to? Plus a copy of my new book.

Why do I get the feeling someone is going to purchase a red rubber stamp that says "LOSER" on it to stamp the front of all my unfilled tags???
