I was sittin in my house today eating some microwavable country fried steak and rockin out to some Guns n roses when I noticed that the dogs were going crazy and happened to see a UPS guy driving down our driveway. So I walked outside and pee'd down my leg a little bit when I saw the guy carrying a big ol' longbow shaped box. Turns out it was the Savannah that my Parental Unit got me for my birthday last week. Called my parents right away to tell them I got it and to thank them again and tell them what great parents they were (honest) and then began unwrapping. I have to give kudo's to Martin. I got a free bow sock, an OK string (still not great), and a decent arrow rest. Got it set up and shot some arrows out of it. My jaw hit the ground when I saw the speed. It shoots very flat out to 30 and even 40 yards. I'm gonna shoot it sparingly until I have some more stuff for it (tip protector, grip, etc.) because I don't want to ding it up but it's gonna hunt this season with my Check Mate (when it get's here :help:
Not Ted.

You've got some pretty special Parental Units there. Belated B-Day wishes and enjoy that new bow. I hear those Savannah's are awesome bows. I'd like to shoot one some day. Congrats!

How can I block my son from reading this? I wouldn't want him to get any Ideas! :biglaugh:

Congratulations, and it sounds like you are "hooked".

Guns N Roses is from MY generation. Dang, I am getting old
-
Don't feel too bad, I also like Blue Oyster Cult.

Guys, You know you're old when the music of our generation (the 80's) is referred to as "retro" by the local radio stations!
-
I just traded for a #55 savanah last week. Smooth, flat and fast. I shoot this better than any longbow I have tried.
-
You feel old being "retro", The era I played and toured in is now considered "Classic Rock",. :saywhat:
Never figured I could have been involved in anything "Classic".

Yep. It was pretty flat out to 40 yards. I am impressed. My only beef with it is that when I was looking it over, the limb tips aren't stellar but that's not a terribly big deal.
