I have some Carbon Revolution arrows that I would like to load up and try out on a recurve (compound arrows from 4 years ago) I have no idea if any of the brass inserts will fit, any ideas? These things only weigh 5.5gr. per inch so if I can load the front with brass and some thing like the ashby head the FOC should be nuts! Does anyone know anything about these? I can tell you that easton knocks barely fit in and maybe stretch the carbon a bit. Any happen to have an odd brass insert laying around that I could try out?
I used to turn the standard ones down on a lathe to fit the heritage 90. You can do it with nothing more than a field point to hold them and a drill.
Just chuck the field point in the drill and use a flat file. Doesn't take long. just go a little at a time til you get the fit you need.
huh seems simple enough, good idea! wonder how much weight that will take off though...
Only a few grains, it really doesn't take alot to make them fit. Just a few 1000's of an inch.
When I filed some 100gr. brass inserts down, on a drill press, to fit heritage 90s, they weighed around 82-83gr. when sized to fit.
