Not a better way to spend an afternoon with my boy!
The result of the first shot of the day...he made a good shot, but had a bad outcome...

First time out for us in'10, won't be the last. He sure is handling his bow well this year...
Great pics Buddy! He'll be going with us before you know it.....
Curt,
You are a very fortunate man. Be proud of your son and cherish each moment in the woods and fields.
ron
 Always good to see a father spending time with his son.
Curt,
Your times spent with your son are precious, and sadly so short because he will grow up before you know it. Loved your story, and esp. the photos.
Curt, great post, what a way to spend the day.
Do it now, they grow up too quick.
Great stuff, Curt. If you could bottle this magic and have everyone take a sip, it'd cure most every problem in the world. :wavey:
Must have been the day for it. Me and my son shot in the basement.
Dave
Awesome stuff Curt, nice shootin' Cade. I hope you showed the old man how its done.
You do know you both are shooting those bows with the wrong hand..? LOL
Great pics! Thanks for taking us with you.
John III
that is great to see! From someone that came from a NON hunting family..good on you brother!
Looking good as usual Curt.....you're right, Cade looks really comfortable with that bow now....looking forward to seing you guys soon....
David
Cade looks a foot taller than the last stumpin' pix! I'd hate to be a stump in your neck of the woods! Thanks for sharing....Ryan
That's simply awesome Curt! I've had my girls out from time to time, but they never venture much further than the backyard range, and they are definitely "fair weather shooters." ;)
My 11 year old shoots with the same hand you do, and actually hits what she aims at for the most part... My 8 year old really just likes to see the arrow fly, and sprays her arrows all around the backyard... can't blame her for that though!
Children are our future, I believe it was said, take a child hunting and you won't be hunting for your child. And you have obviously lit the fire in your young man, which will pay you back 10 fold over the years to come. Hope to share camp with you and Cade in the years to come!
Thanks for sharin' the moment!
They sure grow up fast - my son just headed back to college yesterday - will see him again in March and then again in May before he starts his summer job - truckin' and drivin' combine in Montana....
Shoot straight, Shinken
Handsome little Buck ! He already has great form good job Guru. Look's like your a great Dad.
looks like a young Ron LaClair
That's what it is all about. Great pics thanks for sharing.
 :clapper:
LOOKS like a natural to me!!!!!!
Great pics and I see your a Jets fan, congrats on a fine weekend! Now it's OK for him to gather your knowledge of the bow and arrow don't just let him be a Jets fan, maybe a Dolphins fan!!!! Good job Curt enjoy it!!
Thats a good day for sure.
Hey Curt, that brings back great memories! Go every chance you get!
What a great day for You & Cade. Great pics too as always.
I started shooting the otherday, but at target butt, there is about foot & half of snow in woods here and snowing as I type.
LEFTIES FOREVER :-)
Thanks for sharing Curt! I like all that concentration on the young mans face....
One proud PAPA!!!! as it should be
Thank you for sharing these precious memories with us, I mean just how cool is this? Way!
God bless,Mudd
what a great day, way to go.
Your pics set a goal for my son and I. I can't wait to take him stumping. He just got his first bow and arrow set for Christmas. At 3 years old, he is more interested in seeing me shoot his bow and pulling arrows out of the target. His set needs weaker arrows than the carbons that came with the bow. I hope some dowelling will work. I'm sure he will be shooting it soon.
Enjoy him now my friend, time flies when they get older!!
Looks like both of you had a great time. Congrats on a great day.
looks like y'all had fun.
Better than X-Box or Playstation any day...
Man O Man, I feel sorry for the rabbits at the JLMBH! Cade looks to be getting man sized real quick! Can't wait to see you guys again real soon! Congratulations on a great time afield.
Time spent together! Great stuff Curt.
That boy is growing like a weed.
Chris
Curt, thanks for sharing with us that stump shooting trip you had with Cade. Times like that you and Cade have together are priceless. Also it's wise of you to show Cade how much fun it is to stalk stumps so when (all too soon!) girls and gasoline make the scene, you will still have your best hunting buddy ready to go fling arrows with you. John
Good times,thanks for sharing.
Great stuff. Good to see that he is a lefty, like his dad. Lot's of archery hand me downs coming his way for sure. Thanks for sharing. :bigsmyl:
That....is what it's all about! My sons & I still go stumpin', about 20 yrs now. Grab the bows & arrows, look for sheds & get after them stumps!
Nice pics, thanx for sharing.
You can always count on Curt for a good thread. Thanks for sharing. Joe
Curt, how old is Cade? Me and my son try to get out as much as we can. My son just turned 11, his name is Caleb and I'd bet if you put them to little feller's together they would have a blast! nothing like stumping with your son. Very Cool! Jason
Speaking as a Bewildered Father, They Just DONT Stay Little Long Enough!! My Boy is 17 and to look him in the Eye, he almost has to get to his Knees!! Didnt Get the TALL gene from ME , a whole 5'8" IF I stand Up Straight. :archer:
Very Nice! You'll be "Stackin' Hogs" together before too long. Thanks for sharing.
:clapper:
Great memories. Cherish them ...boy they fly by to fast
:wavey:
Tracy
I cant wait to hunt with the both of you one day. He has some solid form,he does have one of the best to learn from though.
Cool beans, If those bunny's sit like stumps

Curt I read your post to my grandson Jake sitting on my lap he's 7 ,and one of my youger hunting buddys. Thanks for sharing .
 :clapper:
cade sure has 'grown up', like a chip off the ol' block, curt! good times sure are GOOD!
Good stuff no doubt!
Anyone know what kind of bow Cade is shooting? Looking to get one for my son, he just turned 4. Been looking at the mad dog bows.
Curt,
Won't be long until he slaps the broadheads on the end of those sticks! He is growing fast. Good stuff!
Gregg
He has the eyes of a hunter ,lots of focuss. Good job Dad.
Thanx fellas.....I'll show this to him and let him read your response's :notworthy:
Doesn't get any better than that Curt!
I LOVE the look on his face when he's drawing and shooting. That's a hunters look right there. There isn't any other way to describe it!
You have something special. I love shooting with my Dad. I wish we'd have gotten into all this business when we were younger. I had a BB gun in my hand at Cade's age. That is impressive!
I have a little girl due in May. I can only hope that she will take an interest in archery.
Good going Dad and Son.RC
Bet that boy is gonna be a pretty good photographer some day too after all that posing for Dad ;)

Always great to see father and son spending time together! Mighty fine shooting!
Hey Curt, if those are the same arrows I sent with Cody's bow years ago, I have a bunch more and Cade is more than welcome to them! Looks like you had a great day!!!!
That is one of things that really drew me to traditional, getting to shoot with ALL members of my family and having a ball, way to go and thanks for sharing...think I'll take my 4 year old daughter out this weekend...she loves to knock the mudd off my judos and pic out targets for me to shoot.
Hey Cade...great job letting your dad go stumping with ya!!!
Always remember...take your dad hunting, so you don`t have to hunt for your dad!!! Always spend time with your dad, so he knows how important he truely is. It makes him brave enough to handle the future with ease.
Awesome job Cade!!!
I love to see the pics of the kids shooting. He has great form.
Excellent!
Very Nice Bud!! Shawn
Well Curt, given that you are both lefties, the day will come very soon when there's goin to be talk like...."Dad, since you don't use that bow much....well, can I have it? Ain't nothin like hand-me-downs!
Thanks for sharing.......like everyone said....way cool!
Great pictures. Cade has that "lock on intensity". Great to see the two of you out enjoying time together.
Cade's form looks fantastic. Nothing better than spending time with the family. That is what all young boys need is time with daddy. Good on you Guru! Looks like you are raising a fine young man. Thanks for sharing.
He looks just like you Curt. Hope to see you guys at Muzzy
Good job
That's a cool looking kid
Nice pics thanks for sharing. I can't wait for this rain to stop, so I can get out and do some stumpin with my step son and nephews.
Paul
