very interested in buying a dale dye t/d medicine point recurve, need some input on performance and such and some pics would be great.these bows have caught my eye and i will be ordering one soon along with a new morrison cheyenne.thanks.......larry
what say ye? on with the pics......
My favorite recurve. I have copied the grip because it suits me better that any other recurve I have shot. I had Bob Morrison make me a shawnee with that grip and I was very pleased. Bob's bow was a close second and did not have to wait a couple of years. I have a Dakota pro hunter on order but I want to shoot a A&H longbow for a while.
Can't go wrong with a DALE DYE bow IMO. They are quick, the quietest recurve I own and the craftsmanship is unreal. Pictures tell the story, the grip is different, but in a good way. I really like like how it fits my hand.
I would suggest picking one up in the classifieds, and then place your order if you like it. He has a 14-16 month build time currently. If you end up not liking a Dye, you will have NO problem selling it. Good Luck!
two of them on classifieds now, looking for 62" though....speakin of pics....

Larry,I bought a used one here in the classified,I liked so much that I ordered one from Dale that I meet in his home some 10 years ago.His bows are really well detailed, fast, accurate and forgiving.By the way the waiting list is 12-14 months right now.Pics of mine later.Felix

Tim you still have snow lingering around up there or is that an older pic?
I recently bought a Medicine Point recurve and have to agree that the grip is the best I have ever felt. Workmanship and performance are also outstanding. I can not imagine anyone not being impressed and pleased with one of these bows!
Claudia

don't have one but they shoot nice.
Has Dale started making shorter risers?
Greenie
theres one in the classifieds right now thats a limited production # 2 of 12. but it has holes in it.not into inserts in handles or i'd be after that one,its a beaut.
Elk,
What is the Millennium Riser?
Greenie
I think Elkherder means to say that the bow I have for sale in the classifieds is Tapped for a quiver. Not holes!
Elkherder: The outside wood is Bacote (Mexican Rosewood), the vertical is Striped Ebony, the points are Satinwood and Wenge.
Hey Larry you dont even have those morrison limbs back and your looking to buy more stuff your as bad as me.. haha Hey I have one with two sets of limbs Ill sell ya pm me bryan ps one with snake skins.........
oooo0000oooo0000oooo....like skins. :bigsmyl:
mannnnn...you guys got herds of em...i'm tryin to get my mitts on one.
greenie....i think its one of the 12 that were limited production.not sure though
I believe that Dale made 12 (Millennium Risers)in 2000 all the same woods.
Elkherder the Medicine Point is cocobolo with satinwood and hollywood
The Good Medicine is Bocote and Bloodwood accent with some really pretty limbs. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I got one from a fellow Trad Ganger. Nice guy and great bow. Since I got my Trails End I set my new ACS and a couple of custom longbows down. You heard it all before fast, quite, dead in the hand, beautiful. You can't go wrong with one.
I have got to stay away from this thread!!! Already decided on a BW PCH! Yikes!
Rusty1 if change your mind I can send Dale's address and #. I talked to Dale a short while ago heck of a nice guy. I'll be ordering a new bow soon.
Thanks thunder. I wouldn't mind talking to him anyways. Does he have info that he sends out about his bows? What does it take to get on the list to have one made? Mabey if it takes that long I will get my PCH and a Dye when my name comes up!
My Limited Snakewood

Some of the prettiest bows I have ever seen. Dale makes a masterpiece every time. :notworthy:
nice bow felix,real nice
I like the combination of Ebony with some other woods. It gives you more mass and stability. For sure I don't order a Black Widow with the Ebony!!!!
Kevin, some very sweet Dyes you have there.
I guess I'll have to break out the camera and actually take some photos of mine (once I figure out how to post them).
I see there are a couple of bows pictured there that Dale made for Steve Berger. He doesn't live too far from me. I have a couple of bows that Dale built for him. I've told him that he was crazy for selling some of them. I see that the one piece Medicine Point was built for him. Like I said....crazy. They would have to pry my cold dead fingers from that one!
BTW - that snakewood bow is one beautiful creation. Keep me in mind if you ever decide to part with it!
Will do Tony, thanks.
Id love to buy a Lefty!!!!!!! :)
those bows come in six packs or something?
Larry - therein lies the problem...once you try one you buy one. Then, you start thinking that you need another....then another.....then you're on the phone with Dale discussing what you are going to have him build for you (and of course, when he will get it finished).
I've got one in the works, but it is far easier (and quicker) to buy a used one (too easy). Used Dye's seem to show up in waves on this site......Certainly makes it tough to not overindulge....or maybe that word doesn't apply at all!!!!
Someone coined a term on a recent thread that was related to being addicted to Bob Morrison's bows.....and there's a reason! I'll have to call Steve Berger and see if he ever coined a similar term for what he has......I believe Dale once told me he's probably built around 62 bows for Steve over the years. There's a few of his bows pictured on this thread. I would say that whatever it's called....Steve had a bad case of it!
62 for Steve, lol. That dog. He's a great guy, had the pleasure of doing business with him with a couple of bows.
That snakewood and the one piece are beauty's, got to order another soon.
I've had several, just sold this one recently. Bloodwood & ebony. Excellent bows.

Nice looking bows. Just another to add to an increasing list of bow wants.

I have to agree.....every photo of a Medicine Point (I have one on order - due in Jan/Feb 2011) just chips away at what remains of my patience.

Ryan, your bows are always a great addiction to any thread.
Mine were all bought used, I would go nuts if I had to wait 18 months!
You are smart, my friend and lucky!
All beautiful bows guys.
Felix....I'll run you a foot race for that bow :biglaugh:
Billy,I am sorry to have my bows oversea otherwise I would have been pleased to send you some bows to try.But if you want to come elk hunting on my camp we can share the bows.I am not yet taken for 2011.
LOL.....foot race... :biglaugh: thats good....nice lookin bows guys.18 mo's huh....wow...long wait
Larry, actually it is 12.
Ryan, until I seen your bows, I never seen a Dye that low in weight. Where did you buy them?
I got all 3 bows right here on Trad Gang. They had different limbs on them when I bought them. I sold the limbs that came on them and had Dale build these. Getting new limbs from Dale only took about 6-8 weeks. The 37# and 40# are my wifes babys, the 43# is mine.
Guys maybe you could answer this question for me, does Dale build a bow tillered for three fingers under?
Yes, mine are tillerd for 3 under.

He'll build it to your needs. Just a note, mine are built for split finger, but one is actually quieter shot 3 under...........
Here is a beauty I am in the process of purchasing.

I can't take it anymore.... I am calling Dale next week. to order a one piece :biglaugh:
Good decision Rich!
I just ordered another one yesterday. The wait begins.
The best made recurve. Bows are meticulous and flawless.
