Was working on arrows this weekend and one setup tuned nicely with a 145 grain point, which brings us to my bellyache. Judo Points are made
in 100 & 125 screw ons and 135 glue ons. To get a matching stumping arrow I had to take a 135 grain glue on, glue it on a broadhead adapter, then grind off the tip until I got a 145 grain head. At that, it was so long, it didn't fly as closely to the field points and BHs as I would like.
Considering how many of us shoot 140+ points and use arrows with screw in inserts, why isn't some enterprising Trad gear business-dude not building a heavier grass grabber stumping/small game point?
been there, never had the motivation to do all the work you made yourself, thought the same! nowadays i jsut change insert weight so that i can use 125gr. tips all over
For that very reason, my stumpin' arrows are carbon. I use brass inserts to be able to get my 195grs up front even with a Judo
I shoot 125 gr. glue on bhs and just glued the same adapter into the 135. Didn't notice enough of a difference in arrow flight to worry about. ou must be a much better shot than I am. :bigsmyl:
Years ago I took it off from the other end. I don't think you said what kind of arrows your shooting. If they are carbon get the PDP Adjustable Weight System from 3 Rivers. You can add weight in increments of 5 10 and 30 grs.

There are a number of ways to get more weight up front, I'm asking the guys who make stuff to give us an easy screw in solution starting at 140-145 grains...
Terminator, I'm working on it :) I've got the screw-ins in 125 grains and just got this proto-type glue-on that was 200 grains. I've got an idea for the glue-ons that should allow us to offer them in three different weights very simply. Should have something else to post in a week or so. Hopefully, we'll have something that works for you.

I like the looks of those heads Stan. Are you planning to offer the screw-in head in different weights also?
They are not a judo, but I find the hammer heads to work well and you can get a lot more weights. I use the 145's and they work great.
Another option is a standard 125 gr blunt or field point with a 20 gr. Zwickey Scorpio.
The 135 glue on Judos are actually 145.
Stan, somebody had one of those at the
2nd Annual Rabbit Hunt, NICE looking head!
Alternative - glue-on broadhead adapter, with
8-32 screw & sharpened wing nut.
I would like to see the Judos made heavier and a bit stronger too. I always seem to split the sides on them stump shooting.
Yes there are many alternatives and with the weight insert system you can have whatever you need.
Kenneth, it will probably be a while before we get a different screw-in weight. Right now working on getting a glue-on in the product line. I'm hoping that people that need a heavier screw-in will be able to use the glue-ons and an adapter.
Old York, thanks! Hoping someone will run one through a rabbit soon and post some feedback.
GLue on judos to an insert - no big deal IMHO.
I have never gotten judos to fly the same anyway cause of the drag (they seem to wobble and hit lower....BH fly through the air clean so I always seem to hit differently with the judo's.
They say 5 grain won't make too much difference and I think they are right accept when it come to the judos and the drag..oops think I reapeated myself

Both in the pack were 135 on the nose on my digital scale...
Was thinking the same thing myself. I'd love a 175gr judo point. Till then I'll have to stump shoot with the Axe Hex Heads. They work Great! Only thing is I can't use those for The Muzzy Shoot in August. Gotta be Judos Only for safety reasons.
