I am shooting gold tip 55/75 trads tith a 145 grain broudhead. My draw length is 30in. I am pulling 63lb. My arrow with my broadhead weighs 445 grains. I have been told that is not enough weight. What do you guys think? Any arrow sugestions.
Any help would be great
Thanks,
Jim
no matter what anyone sez, if it 'works' for you, don't question yer gear or what yer doing.
that said, yer running 7gpp with that setup and it's got to be hard on yer bow, and maybe you, too.
up the arrow weight a good 100 grains and see how that works for ya ... do it by increasing the point weight if at all possible, so that the foc increases as well.
You may have trouble getting a stiff enough arrow once you stick 100 grains up front. If so, try some of the tubes or perhaps put 50 up front and weight tubes for the rest.
You don't mention how your arrows fly. Do you bareshaft????
At that draw length you might want to experiment with some 75/95 GT's with 100gr Brass insert and your 145gr BH. You would gain some grains per inch and Beef up your FOC. I like to shoot 9gr per pound of Bow. It keeps the Bow quiet and still has plenty of speed and power. Try to get about 575 to 630gr Arrow.
Took forever but i got them to fly with weight tubes. Thanks for the help. I was amazed that to get them to fly i had to shoot shield feathers. They flew terriabe with parobolic but like darts with shield.
