Who's gonna be able to top that? Nice!!!!!
are those all this years already?
This is what I've found after 3 days of walking. The first pics are my best find to date. I found these on Jan. 10th and they gross scored 174!! I gave him a 18.5 inside spread. My buddy thinks he's closer to 20. That left side is 85 inches of bone! Pics don't do him justice. The left G-3 is 11.5 inches and the right G-2 is 13 inches. I'm proud to have found him (instead of the squirrels). The rest that you see I have found over the last two days. So far, three sets and nine singles. I live in south central Missouri and all these sheds have been found on two different farms each about 400 acres surrounded by public land. Get out there and get em before the critters!
Dang! Nice haul! I bet some of those Iowa guys north of you are hoping their monsters don't get shot as does in their late season!!
 Now those are some sheds!
Here are the ones I have found so far this year. (http://i566.photobucket.com/albums/ss101/blackfeather48/P1010050.jpg)
Here is my best set so far this year. (http://i566.photobucket.com/albums/ss101/blackfeather48/P1010053.jpg)
It's hard to tell size from pic's, so this will give you an idea of the mass of them. (http://i566.photobucket.com/albums/ss101/blackfeather48/P1010052.jpg)
4 Point,,,,,WWOOOOWWWWW...
Did you find each set together as a pairs, or searched the grounds and paired together?
Kingstaken, I only found one set together so far and they were small. The big set was 1/2 mile apart.
Those are awesome 4 point. That dude's got some bases. How old do you think he is? Keep em coming.
Awesome, guys. I gotta get out there and do some looking.
NICE...NICE........NICE !!!!!!!!
Those are some awesome finds....
Pretty darn nice racks there fellows.
8leg-lover, you have some nice ones there. That big set has some great tines.
The buck is 4 or 5 years old, I have his sheds from last year and he put on around 30"s of horn.
I also have some trail cam pic's of him I'll post on the trail cam pics thread latter.
Last night while shed hunting I jumped the largest deer I have ever seen in my life...170class 10 with a 10-12 inch drop off his right main beam. It was in my hunting area and I have never seen this buck before. I hope to goodness I find those...hope he drops them soon! Awesome sheds guys!
Real nice sheds guy's,I'm still waiting for them to drop around here.Have fun & good luck too all!
awesome sheds guys, dont find them too often where i hunt so i love seeing all the ones you guys find!
This nice 8 just dropped his right side.

WOW! There are some *awesome* sheds on this thread!
Arrow K9 -I really like those photos that show the shed(s) when found. There is something *special* about that....
Thanks for sharin' everyone!
Keep 'em comin'!

Shinken,
Those pics let me relive the moment. What you don't see is me sobbing like a little boy that just found his favorite toy broken .
My shed.
Im waiting for someone to post pics of a ton of back hair...LOL
George,
The mass on yours is bordering "insane".
Awesome find. Keep up the good work.
I especially like the red "beading" I see around the base there!
I to like to get some "as they lay" pics. I took a few with my phone but I don't have the cord to download them to my computer. I'll be taking my digital camera from now on. I'm glad to see there's some others out there with the same sickness I have. I can't get enough of looking for sheds. I make lamps, chandiliers, wine racks, you name it that I give to family and friends. I'm currently trying to collect enough to make a shed Christmas tree. Also you can't beat the exercise you get. Keeps you in shape through the winter. I'll be going back out Thurs.-Sat. Can't wait!! Keep em coming!!!
George,
That's a Booner for sure! Can't wait to see the other side!
Arrow k9,
Looks like we share the same profession. That's an awesome pic with your bow.
Does this count? I actually found it in early Oct. Unknown cause of death. The coyotes had eaten all but the large bones and skin. A week later I went to get the head and it looked like this. The head is sitting in a bucket behind the house right now, for a euro mount.

George that pic promotes you to VP of the Crusty Curmudgeon Society of The USA. :clapper:
Damn George, nice shed you showoff! :goldtooth:
George, you gonna mount it? Nice finds you guys, just unreal horns.
Skulls count. I picked up a 140" 8 pointer two years ago.
Do you guys try to focus on particular areas when shed hunting or do you just walk around looking. Deer are yarded up pretty good, so I suspect finding where the big groups are, might improve the odds.
Bedding areas are a good place to start. No guarantees though I usually do alot of walking.

I like to hunt bedding areas that are very close to feeding areas! Grassy water ways in picked corn fields are another favorite of mine! I drive around in the evening as well this time of year to see where the big groups of deer are feeding in the fields then check those area's as well! It will be another 2-3 weeks before I start shed hunting though, I prefer to wait till I know there all off so I don't spook the bucks out of the areas I mentioned above!
You guys definitely have more shed mojo than I. 8leg-lover's 3 day pick-up looks more like my yearly take, probably better.
I found this guys sheds the previous year then I found them still hooked to his noggin.

In south Alabama???
I am hopin' that HerdBull checks in with some fresh 2010 sheds!
He usually doesn't let too much of that calcium get back into the food chain....
:~)

Here is a photo of my set of sheds from the begining of the post. I mounted them on a Mountain Mike's skull replica. I used the large 8 point skull I found two years ago as a reference. I fiddled with it for about three hours before I decided that this is how he looked with his headgear. He gained a couple inches of spread so this puts him somewhere around 176. The other photo is of him next to the 140 inch 8 pointer. Keep the sheds coming.

Knife River,
I found that skull in central Alabama.
Wow the skull replica looks awesome, he was a Monster!!
I heard that some more 2010 shed antlers have been found recently....
(Sorry George - "out buildings" have been in short supply due to recent mandated upgrades by the current administration working with the census bureau.)
Back to the top - hopefully - for some new "bone" additions....

Wow, great pics guys. I haven't been out yet as I have been seeing a ton of deer still with antlers on. Although my GF saw a big buck yesterday that lost both sides very recently
I am a cheater!!! Nothing big yet!

Great looking dog!!!
Thanks bud. His name is Jack and he is a 1 1/2 year old black lab! It took him about 5 minutes to pick up on the shed thing! I would love to take credit but it is all on him!
AWESOME photos Robhood23 !!!
That is a handsome Lab right there - you could find some serious bone if he is at all consistent.
Thanks for sharin'!

I found this shed, my first of 2010, on Jan.30th.

Here's a nice 4pt I found Feb.3rd I found one side off this same buck last year on Feb.7
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v117/treekiller/shed%20pics/feb3shed13.jpg)
Here's a little year old shed without any chews, neat little shed.
Last Friday I found this big 4pt at first light. I got trailcam pics of this buck around Christmas. I looked the rest of the morning, but couldn't find the match.
Went back to the truck and ate a sandwich. I decided to go below the road for awhile and hadn't gone 200ft when I found a 4pt set. This buck was on my trailcam 36 hrs earlier.
Then a couple hundred yards later I found this hog 7pt in the timber. I had this buck on trailcam a week and a half ago.
Not a bad day for this early, most the bucks are still packing their antlers.
I went back Saturday, but couldn't find the matches. :(
Tree killer, Lets see some of those trail cam pictures. Love to match them with the deer.
Nice.......

Okay, here goes. Here's the big 4pt on the original owner. The shed I found scores 76".

Thanks for sharin' Ron!
Looks like I need to get out in the mountains and see what the mule deer are doing in my neck of the woods. It is still early for elk around here - they still have their head gear on.
Shoot straight, Shinken
George you beat me too it, I was gona post a picture of my shed, lol!
I had a few hours before the rain started today and went to the area where I killed my Blacktail buck in early December. LOTS of deer trails, poop, and beds in the timber. 10 minutes out of the truck I found this nice dark 3pt. Spent several more hours walking trails and checking beds, but never found any more sheds.
I didn't get across the creek to the sweet spot, so I'll be going back again in a couple weeks.
  Nice Tree Killer great finds. You are doing better than me and several friends here in ut. Thanks for sharing.
Tree Killer,
You must be in the center of the blacktail universe! Those are some great bucks where you are.
You guys are really finding some nice sheds, my neighbor got one last week, when he had real nice 8pt, come to his birdfeeder and got his right side antler caught in the metal cage suet feeder, got it pulled off, I have never heard of such thing,
ttt
Found a spike and two 4pts Friday. The bigger sheds had little specks of blood on them, so they were pretty fresh. My second spike shed of the year.

Tree killer. Nothin says ,Find Me! better that a 4 point stickin straight up! That is a sweet pic!
Wow, you guys have some awesome sheds. I've only found my scrawny little 3 point one. Now I can't find anymore. Saw a 2 point yesterday with only one antler and a 3 or 4 point that had full headgear. Seems there should be the matching antler to the one I've found (the one I have is a right), the other 2 point antler (it still has it's right so I know it's a different deer), and then I'll have to wait on the rest.
On the plus side, I now know these woods so well, I could walk through the middle of em blind folded.
But waiting still sucks.
Very nice mass on that pair of whitetail sheds A-K9!
It's fun to find them in the snow like that.
Shoot straight, Shinken
This is the coolest thread I've seen in a while...can't wait to see some more

Finally got a weekend without snow or 30 mile an hour winds so my Lab Sage and me took a walk. Took a few pic's but they are with my video camera so the quality isn't the best. (http://i566.photobucket.com/albums/ss101/blackfeather48/DSC00006.jpg)It was my best day ever shed hunting,we found 32 sheds. No better way to cure the cabin fever. (http://i566.photobucket.com/albums/ss101/blackfeather48/DSC00007.jpg)
Wow, cool pics! Seriously big deer! Congrats guys. Keep the pics coming!
I found 1 shed horn in my whole life. I'm starting to get depressed again.
32 sheds in one outing. I ain't seen 32 deer in 8 years, that unreal!!!! :notworthy: You have got a great place to spend time hunting and wandering!!!
32 sheds good lord you must have one heck of a place to hunt.
Wow Travis!
That is a fine antler-hunting lab that you have.
Shoot straight, Shinken
Thanks guys,
We have had bad winter and all the deer are bunched up where their is food.
We went out for about an hour tonight and my dog found 3 that were under the snow. I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pic's.
Great pics guys! Love those blacktails Ron, can't wait to see this years trail cam pics!
