Title: VIDEO out - HOMEMADE SMALL GAME ARROWS
Post by: yononindo on January 17, 2010, 07:58:00 AM
VIDEO IS UP !!

Some members asked me about doing a video on "how to do it" ....

Here it is :    http://www.youtube.com/user/yononindo#p/u/6/M_Gm5Zf9G9g

Enjoy it.

Beman MFX Classic 500, brass Insert, footed with 2018, 4 point Skipper Stopper and a drive-in nut.

Footing length is 1 and a half inch at the front and a half inch at the nock end.

Total arrow weight with three 6 and a half inch full size feathers is 685 gr. Length is 29

Over the years, been using them successfully on small game like squirrels, pheasants, rabbits .....

I do not shoot rabbits on the run, I go for head shots with this arrows - KILL or MISS !!!

They also work great for stump shooting.

I shoot them out of a custom made Black Douglas Ultra TD made by Border Archery in Scotland.

Amo: 58 - Hex 5 Limbs - 58 lb. on my fingers.

Martin archery is the supplier. They come in 125 grain only. They are great stumping heads. Need more weight just add a washer behind it or the drive in nut. Knocks the snot out of small critters and are almost impossible to lose. The points can be touched p and made sharp again with a 3 corner file.

What holds that drive in nut in place, just the tight fit and the threads? Do you have to hammer it on?

Tiller of the bow told me to elevate my arrow rest.
Gives me a much better arrow flight.

Did not want to put anything like a flipper rest on that bow. Besides that, I like the way it appears and gives my hand a better placement.

I'd love to see more pics of that antler rest you've made.  I think it looks wicked cool and is something super unique!  Good for you.

Oh...and thanks for the tips on the small game heads, those look super nasty and I'll be making some up at my first chance.

Take care!

you might want to think about submitting them to 3rivers.  I saw in the new catalog that they are having some sort of contest.

Daniel,  your youtube page is GREAT!!  I really like the arrow paradox video.  Is the arrow that shattered a really underspined shaft?  It looked like a snake on the shot right before it.

Hello Mister Shakes.602,

why sorry for being the "Woodie Freak"???
Wooden arrows are great. The smell when you work with cedar ...

As for the "Glue On" Version" - let me think about it and give me some time - try to do my best!
