Title: Cloth Camo Tape and H2O ?
Post by: L. E. Carroll on January 16, 2010, 12:10:00 AM
For you guys who have experience with cloth camo tape.  How much water does it absorb in the rain? Does it dry quickly?  Has it caused any problems in the mounting area of 3 piece bows [swelling, splitting, or delaminations of limb butts or problems with the risers?]

I'm thinking of giving it a try but it rains a lot here in the Pac. NW   :wavey:    :coffee:

Gene: My wife and I use it and have had no problems. However, Camo dip is having a special this year on dipping bow for Tradgang members. I am getting a new set of limbs for my DAS bow but I  believe I will have them Camo dipped in their Ultimate pattern.

I have a friend who used the camo socks and he left them on his new Hummingbird bow all season. When he took them off the whole finish had turned white, like a water ring from a wet glass on a table top. He had to have the bow refinished. So I would be careful living where you live doing anything but paint or dipping. We don't get as much rain here as you do so I do not worry about it as we have had no problems.

Gene, if your worried about the absotion, how about treating with a repelent like use for tents? Or work in some wax, Montana blend or such.

Good shootin, Steve
