I was trying to find a good trad elk hunt to maybe go on this year or next. Does anyone know of a good place to go? I want to do a guided hunt and not just a drop and hunt type thing.
Thanks
get with Missouri Sherpa he will hook you up I am sure.
Thanks, i sent him a email. I really want to go and do this
I hunt and guide trad 20+ in NM
Mark Turner at Rocky Mountain Big Game Adventures (www.rmbga.com) in Colorado is a dedicated stickbow hunter and I believe he has guided several trad. guys to elk, sheep, and mountain lions. Heckuva nice guy to boot. I don't remember what the cost is but I'd give him a shout just to discuss what he has to offer.
Dusty
Randy Horne at Bar-H Outfitters is a trad hunter and has a excellent track record and high success rate. You do (though) have to have one or two preference points...depending on the year.
Veterans Hunt in Colorado State Forrest State Park. Around opening weekend. About 25 guys last year and we sponsored 6 returning Veterans. Great time had by all. Low cost DIY around $1000 including out of state tag.
Elk whisperer- I may take you up on that one day. Been to Alamagordo and up thru Cloudcroft. Loved it out there. I'm definately going to do that someday!!!!
Whats a trad elk hunt?
Paul Moore @ W3outfitters/Chuck Davies Guide service. Check him out, great person, honest and even has a trad only reference list 1-877-826-0636
www.w3outfitters.com (http://www.w3outfitters.com) .
Lots of repeat bowhunters go with him every year, says alot about his success, price and hard work if you ask me. Worth at least a call, especially since the call is free.

That's where you go and hunt trad elk.
My best guess would be, an elk hunt using traditional elk.
Which one of us bit?

Lets make that an elk hunt using traditional equipment. Whew!
Thanks everyone, Im sure I will come up with something here. And yes, it would be a elk hunt with traditional gear, some guys think you should be able to shoot 50-60 yards, with a compound maybe but with traditional bows....no. So someone that knows trad can maybe set you up for closer shots. Not always I know but it helps if they hunt that way them selfs or understand the limits of trad bows
If your looking for a guided hunt check out Timberline Outfitters NM @ AZ Perry Hunsaker is the owner and is an avid bowhunter(although not trad,Im working on that)I've been hunting w him for 15+yrs.The only drawback is you have to deal with the draw. But when you draw you can rest assured I'll be in camp heck I'll even bring you to some of my favorite honey holes.Shoot me your address and I'll sent you out some info.
