Title: Dryad Orion
Post by: LV2HUNT on January 15, 2010, 11:33:00 AM
I am curious about people's impressions on whether or not these "static tipped" bows are significantly quieter than other recurves they have shot.

I know that Hope and Faith have been making the rounds and hope that a few people are able to offer their opinion.

I am asking based upon my interest in an "ultra quiet" recurve.

Yes, I am aware that there are many variables involved in quieting a bow.

I stringwalk.  that will make a bow as loud as a bow can be.  I shoot two Dryad Orions with the 17" riser.  they are as quiet or quieter than any other  62" recurve I shot.  On all the recruve I stringwalk I put limbsavers on them amd 4 sting jacks on the string.

I shoot the Orions with a 1/2" crawl (release 1/2" under arrow nocking point). I then gapp off the point.  at 16 to 17 yards I am point on with a 29" spruce arrow shaft.  Killer quiet and killer accurate   :)

quietest recurve I ever owned was a 56 inch Dryad Orion, mine had black glass over bamboo.

I had the Faith bow for a while and found it to be no different than any other recurve I've shot...when tuned correctly...it was as quiet as my Kwyk Styks.....but I wouldn't say and quieter...
