After about three years of trad hunting I finally got my first squirrel.  The past has been filled with near misses, close calls, and dodged arrows.  I would probably have killed one by now if I did more actual squirrel hunting.  I get most my shots while walking into a deer stand or out deer scouting.  This afternoon was dedicated to squirrel hunting.  The squirrel was shot with an easton Legacy and hex head.  The bow is a 50# Kodiak Hunter.  I did a thread on the bow some time back.

Awesome!  I have lost some of my best arrows at squirrels while deer hunting!  They are in no way easy game.  Congrats!
You going to come to the Tradgang Iowa bunny hunt?  I think it will be fun.

Congrats, I have shot hundreds of arrows at those critters, only hit one and he ran off with my arrow in him half way up a tree until the arrow finally fell out! Sure are tough!

Its pretty amazing how they duck/jump your arrow! That instant reflex must be due to the threat from above!

Good for you and nice shooting. If I had a dollar for every one I have missed this season. Not done yet

				Way to go......
It took me longer to take a squirrel when I first started out than it did to take a deer.  Not for lack of trying, just for lack of actually hitting one.
You have to consider that a trophy.  They are tough to hit and sometimes even tougher to expire.

Congrats. I got my 1st this year also.

				Congrats!

Nice Shooting ..!! That is a big rascal ...!!

They are so small and hard to hit. A squirrel might be the ultimate bow hunting challenge. That is a real accomplishment.

				Nice shooting

The smaller the target, the greater the reward.
No one really hunts squirrels around here but both my parents were from eastern KY.  I never saw my Grand-pa gets so excited about anything as he did squirrel hunting.  I have fond childhood memories of hunting the little buggers.
