Title: Beman Classic Arrows
Post by: FEIK77 on January 14, 2010, 08:20:00 PM
Hi, I shoot a 54 pound recurve bow at my draw length. I want to try out the beman classic arrows but don't know what size to get. I'm gonna be shooting 225 grains up front. What size do you guys think I should get. Thanks

what draw length?, the 400's seem to be a popular size for most folks

I shoot the 400s accross a very wide range of draw weight. They seem to be pretty versitile if you get them uncut and tune them.

400's. I have been using them cut at 29.5" with 100gr. brass inserts, and 145gr. points. Shooting them out of my 51@28" Zipper and 52@28" Widow. I draw 28.5" Hope this helps!!

I dont know how related this is or if it helps but I shoot Beeman Black Max 500. They spine on a calibrated accurate spine tester at exactly 65#. I dont know what it is but they are like the magic arrows. they fly like darts out of everything 35# to 70# out of hundreds of different bows. Jim

I purchased a test kit from 3 rivers.  Ended up shooting 28 inch 400's with 100 grain brass inserts and 225 grain points.  I used the bare shaft method and kept cutting down the arrows till the arrow matched my point weight.

I shot them this past year, and I also used 225 up front.  I have a long draw (29.5-30") and I used 340s cut 30.5

I shoot a 54# Zipper recurve at 29.  I shoot 400 MFX classics with 200 grains up front.  They shoot perfect and always have.  Field points or Magnus broadheads shoot the same.

I've got a Chinook recurve, 55# @ my 29" draw. I shoot Beman Classic 500's cut to 30 1/2" w/100gr brass inserts & 125gr points.
They shoot just fine.
