Title: Saxon Bows
Post by: Curtis Roberts on January 12, 2010, 08:21:00 PM
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here shoots any of the saxon bows,  I really like the recurves.  Especially the hawk, selkirk, and american traditional.  Just wanted to see what you guys and gals think of them.  Also If you have any pics I would love to see them.

I have had two Saxon American traditional longbows, they were great shooting bows.Fit and finish was great. The American is an underated bow,not as fancy as the Hawk series but a well made solid shooting bow.

Here's my Saxon American, always liked the grip of hybrid longbows better so this curve fits right in with em!

I had a 62 inch Selkirk. It was a nice looking bow and smooth shooter.I liked it.The Hawks are sure beautiful with the setback Turkish style riser.I had the Hawk longbow and it was an exquisite example of the bowyers art.

I always liked the looks of the overlays on the belly side of the handle on the Hawks and Selkirks as well that formed the locator style grip.It set them off nicely.

I have a 62" Saxon Selkirk and absolutely love it,the rounded contours and overlays seam to just melt together.A great shooter and light as a feather with no handshock.

I've always admired the Shrike cause I love short bows.

I had a Saxon d and r longbow 64 in and it was a really great shooting light weight bow. I would reccomend Saxons next to Sentmans if I did not build my own bows.
