OK,
Which do you use Longbow or Recurve if you own both I want the one you hunt with most of the Time. :readit:
Sorry recurve if we REEEE do it you may have better luck...LOL
Recurve
Recurve 99% of the time.
I love them both, simply I can't shoot the LB as good as my Curves.
Recurve, but liked the longbows I saw on the Solana trip.
Howard Hill longbows and Schafer Silvertip recurves happen to be my favourites, and I hunt with both.
I have both but I hunt with the recurve most of the time. As someone else said I just can't consistantly shoot the longbow as well.
Longbow for me. I dont dislike 'curves(except the amount of brush and twigs they pick up in the ears), but I LOVE longbows.
Swore by recurves when I started though I appeared to shoot a longbow better as I loved the "genius" of the recurve. Shot a recurve exclusively for 7 or 8 years. Purchased a longbow on a whim and haven't looked back. I may some day-it's all fun! I should add that, rightly or wrongly, I place many of the hybrids in their own class. I'm not knocking them as I truly do love them all-but they just don't capture the same "spirit of the longbow" for me in quite the same way as the 'ole "D' shape, LONGbow. It'd be interesting to do a three way poll.
Longbows for me, light and quiet.
Eric
Love me some longbow.
Only recurves.I've had longbows...just not for me.
Hunt with both but prefer the Longbow, won't hesitate to use recurve if conditions call for it.
Wish that I could shoot a longbow as well as a recurve.
Would not trade my blackwidow recurve for anything. love my curv's Widow
I prefer longbows but also enjoy srooting my old Bear recurves.gken
Hill longbow
I have both but prefer the long bow. My recurve is really light but my long bow is even lighter. That's the only deciding factor that I can think of that makes me carry the long bow.
Have not shot my recurve yet in 2009 or 2010. Just sets on the rack as a backup.
sorry for the missed keys ,the eyes aint what they used to be
I love longbows, but hunt mostly with recurves.
i voted recurve, but that's all i have .... for now :)
Looks like this is shaping up to be a tight race. :coffee:
What if I have a few of both.
I voted longbow but it's actually a hybrid. But I believe it's more like a longbow than a recurve.
Ummm... Recurve?? I shoot a longbow. 1 because thats all I own. 2 because thats what I choose to own. So longbow has my vote.
I have both also but shoot my longbows the most.
currently recurve but have a shrew long bow on the way so may change by the fall or be split time who knows as of now curve though
I own 2 recurves and 3 longbows. Really like longbows, but shoot recurves alot better.
Bill
LongboW for me I'm still trying to go selfbow only.
LB only since 1979.

Recurve
Have both, started out many years ago with a recurve but now I hunt almost exclusively with either my Centaur or Super Shrew. Bill Dunn is making me a set of longbow limbs for a SXT riser, then I'll have one more in the mix.
I have more hunt time with a recurve but currently am using a longbow.
I have to agree, both are fun and have their pluses and minuses... I've taken a handful of critters with a recurve, but I'd need more people's fingers and toes to count the critters taken with a longbow...
Long bow for me, but I'd like to try a recurve with a low wrist longbow like grip. High wrist recurve grips seem to make me shoot right for some reason.
Ask me later please.
They are both great. I would take either one, but I like the fact I have a lot of both. Although most people don't think in these terms, one of the biggest advantages of a longbow in my opinion is the straighter limbs that pack easier for travel. Fortunately, most of my favorite bowyers make both kinds of bows. I have hunted much more with a recurve but have hunted more in the last year with a longbow. I do want to say that my "longbows" are almost all of the reflex/deflex hybrid variety which are really half way between a longbow and a recurve.
Allan
Have both, like shooting longbows better.
Have both, use both. On my first longbow I really struggled with the grip, and I probably overbowed myself to boot. When I got my Shrew CH, the grip made all the difference. Really like the Classice Hunter, once I figured out the correct arrow to use so have been using that a little more.
Longbows Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goldtooth:
I currently shot a recurve, but want to test a few longbow during the off season.
I have and use both but I would say that over 55 years of bow hunting, I havve used the recurve more.
The one that's in my hand.
Well it looks like the longbow is winning.
Have a recurve now but prefer a longbow.
I shoot a hybrid, so I guess I like them both equally :biglaugh:
Currently have a ACS CX Hybrid Longbow & a DAS Dalaa Recurve. Archery League started last night and I shot the ACS. Might take the Dalaa next week ????????
Recurve
been with a longbow for awhile, but going back to Recurve...just feels better to me...
BlacktailBowhunter said, "I shoot a hybrid, so I guess I like them both equally."
I think a very large contingency that post here do shoot what would be called a hybrid. That said, some of those hybrids are sweet shootin' longbows 8^).
Hunted with a recurve for 15 years or so, switched to longbow for a couple of years, now back to the recurve.
Do I have to choose. LOL . I like the flight of the arrow and the bend of the stick. If it is in my hand I will shoot it. :campfire:
prefer my 58 inch hybrid its dead quiet.
recurve for me
I really like both, but shoot better with my Zipper recurve. If I'm going hunting I'm taking my recurve. I'm kinda partial to Zipper though
Shoot my longbow better.
I like them both. If I go hunting I want my recurve. I just shoot it better. I'm kinda partial to Zipper recurves though. Good luck
I shoot a hybrid also, best of both worlds I figure.
Recurve for me, never shot a long bow but plan on at Cloverdale.
Dave
Recurve
Hunt with my recurve (RER) but love shooting my HH Big 5.
Seen some real pretty longbows, love the simplicity of their lines.
It comes down to the feel of the draw for me, I just prefer the way a recurve feels when you draw it.
TTT
Griffin Longbows and an older shrew Longbow that John made for Ron.
Recurves for me. They just feel better and shoot better, for me. Plus the look of a sculpted Howatt Hunter riser and the recurved limbs is very pleasing to my eye.
I like both for different reasons, but since all I own is a longbow, I went with that.
longbow 90% of the time, they seem to be a little quieter to me.
I have both and I shoot both well. That being said I can hit easier (less concentration) with my Howatt Hunter recurve and have shot a number of animals with it. I think it is mainly the grip. I REALLY want to try a hybrid with a grip more like my Hunter.
Sarrels longbows for me!
