What is the proper way to sharpen the no mercy and and what degree angle do I want to put on it? Thanks
Single bevel or double bevel?
If single- I use a honing stick and sharpen the actual blade side then just 1 or 2 swipes on the other side to take the burrs off and to finish the edge. Doubles- I don't know.
Terry is your man to ask he canget thosee things crazy sharp. Try KME sharpeners though they will do the trick.
Thanks, guys it is the single bevel. The only sharpener I have is a diamond lansky.
You can get it done with your Lans...well, the sharpener that you have. ;)
Work the bevel side with your coarsest stone till you can both see and feel a raised burr on the unbeveled side. Then proceed through the finer grits. After you've finished polishing the bevel side, switch to the unbeveled side and like Longbowguy said, do the minimum neccessary to remove the burr. Be sure to raise the burr right in the begining with the coarsest stone. If you can't see or feel the burr, that means it's not there and that tells you that you're not done with the coarse stone yet. You can give me a call if you need some help,
Ron
Thanks, Sharpster. Sorry that it is a lans. That is all they had 10+ years ago:) Do you want to trade:)
Don't be sorry, I have nothing bad to say about any of our competitors stuff. They're all good sharpeners. I do have a favoite brand though! :biglaugh:
