Man.....that is SERIOUSLY SWEET on the eyes.
Christmas comes late!
Very nice!
Beautiful bow Mike.
I'd love to try one out. I hear they are great shooters.
You are a lucky man!!! beutiful bow and great pics.. thanks for sharing. I might have to start saving for one of those!
Wow Mike!! That is a beauty for sure!! I bet she shoots good too!!!
WOW Mike that is one sweeeeeet looking bow bro! Really beautiful wood combos! Once you start shooting her we won't be hearing much from you as you won't beable to put it down!! CONGRATS!!
Ops,almost forgot, Welcome to the kajikastik family!!
Mark, she is a beauty.Congrats.Now let know us how she shoots.
JD does great work. Very nice!
Mike, that is a fine bow bud !. Can you shoot it as good as it looks ??
Lanier
Niiiiiiii ' iiiiice!
Enjoy The Outlaw ^^
Mike, Congrats, It's a beauty. Love those myrtle limbs. You're going to be very happy with the way it shoots fer sure!!
ah man thats nice!
Nice lookin bow. I like the leather wrap too, I haven't seen anybody get creative with the handle wrap before.
Such a beautiful bow!
I don't know how your bowyer got the leather looking like that, but I did find a trick for giving elk hide a very nice "aged" look. First rub it with a hard chunk of bees wax, unevenly, then torch it slightly with a butane torch. The beeswax will take on a darker color when heated. Next apply oil to the skin (it'll absorb best where the beeswax isn't as thick or missed.) What your left with is a leather that looks like it's been used for ages.
Man Oh Man Mike That Thang be Sweeeeeeeeeet
Mike,
That is a real nice hunting bow. Kind of bow you just like to be with. tom
Mike,
That bench the Outlaw is resting on appears to have some nice looking veneers in it just waiting to be made! ;) :)
Bill
Wow! Nice bow!!
Wow I am verrry impressed. The grip and riser combo looks incredible, and then you had to go and add two beautiful limbs on it. Very unique looking at awesome bow my friend.
JD always seems to find some awesome looking wood!! Congrats!
What a work of art! How does it shoot?? Please review.
congrats on a beautiful bow!
Mike -
Congratulations on the new bow. Verrry nice. Now,
how does it shoot with your 30" draw? Hmmm?
NIce bow, I love packages like that.
JD does great work! Beautiful bow!
Thanks! I love the way it looks!
I shot it some today....I think I'm going to need a stiffer arrow than I thought. Seems to be shooting .400 carbons best with 50 grain insert and 200 grain tip. I'll play with it some more tomorrow.
Well, it's like butter at 30", only picks up 5# between 28" and 30", but man does it throw an arrow! I've shot the one piece Mojo... it and this Kajika is still the quietest recurves I've shot. Maybe because of the semi static tips makes it so smooth and quiet at a shorter length.
The Kajika is only 56", but feels like a longer bow...very stable, I think the rear mounted limbs contribute to this.
I really believe if you are "cursed" with a long draw (around 30") and wanting to shoot a shorter bow,,, you can't go wrong with a 56" Kajikastik!
Here's the last of the pictures I've took....might as well post them too. LOL!

Mike,
Looks like you and JD hit a "homerun" with that wood combo on "Outlaw"
Too sweet. I think she's much prettier than "Firewood" whose mother I believe was an old Osage fence post that JD rescued and turned into a work of art instead of winding up heating someones home during these cold winter months.
Mike
Now that's nice. Great looking bow and a cooool name to boot!
oh man, what a beauty!! im wondering if thats off the same piece of myrtle that my bow was made?? one good looking bow Mike!
Great looking bow and I really like the name. When you decide to get rid of it let me know since we both have the same name.
Great looking Bow.
Now I can hardly stand it. JD sent me pics of the limb veneers and riser laid up and roughed out of my new 56" Kajika. Very grainy cocobolo veneers and cocobolo/osage riser. It should be shipping out here in a week or two.
I was being extremely patient until you had to go and post those pics MIke. I hope mine looks close to that good.
Ron
Great looking bow. Love that myrtle in the riser. But, what are you talking about "I really believe if you are "cursed" with a long draw (around 30")"? You are joking right?
Elkchaser, your bows sound very nice. I like the cocobolo and osage combo's I have seen.
Be sure to post it.
JD builds a great bow.
Congratulations on a sweet looking bow! Hope she brings many hours of shooting enjoyment. :clapper:

xtrema312, it's a long story, but yea it's an inside joke with a good friend here who has a short draw.....he says I'm cursed with the long draw. lol!
Elkchaser, it's worth the little wait! Your bow will be awesome.....they always look better than the pictures, but post some when you get it!
Mike
Impressive. Wow! What a stunner. Put it under lock and key.
Shes a beauty Mike.
Very nice Mike!!! Enjoy.
Beautiful bow there, congratulations and happy shooting...
I shoot 29.5" with my Kajika and love it...it's right at about 60#'s at my draw. Bow is marked 57@28...and I love it, smokes an arrow!
Love the Myrtle...some of the best I've seen!
Josh
Oh man, that is NICE!!! I told my wife I was all done with new bows and was going to stick with the 2 I have.. but then this came along.. that myrtle is amazing.
Very nice looking bow. JD makes some beauties. Look forward to hearing how it shoots. The mojostiks are great shooters, but I've never shot a kajikastik
Great wood combination!
Love it!

Glenn
That is a sweet looking bow...congrats Mike
wow, that's looks great
Mike,
I can see everyone feels sorry for you because you ended up with such an ugly bow, but no one is willing to help you out. I, on the other hand, being such a great guy, am willing to take that ugly thing off your hands so you can get a pretty bow for yourself. And I am so gracious that I am willing to buy it from you at only a slight discount. You don't have to thank me -- just send me the bow -- and depending how disgustingly ugly I find it to be when I receive it, I will send you some money. I just hope it shoots better than it looks. You are just going to have to stop all this self-deception, bite the bullet and let me do this favor for you.

Allan
Wow Mike! She is a sweet stik for sure. It's good to see you on the buying end of a beauty like that instead if giving away some of the beauties you have sold in the past. Best of luck with her and stay well my friend. Love the name by the way!
Mike, how is the grip on the Outlaw? Most of the grips I've seen on the Kajikastiks look big. Does JD make a smaller grip with a leather wrap like that? Really looks great.
I keep looking at this thread and telling myself that I don't need another bow. I'm not sure that I'm being sucessful in convincing myself. :knothead:
It is purty, I shot it yesterday but he wouldn't sell it to me yet!!(LOL)
Real nice lookin stick!! Something about woodgrain just gets a man all worked up!!! 8^)

owlbait,
The grip feels perfect to me, but I don't like small grips on a bow. It's not as big as the pictures portray. I can touch my middle finger to my thumb around the throat.
JD can make the grip whatever size you want.
Mike
Thanks Mike. Great description.
No problem!
