Just started using a summit open shot any and all commets on this stand Thanks
:campfire:
Add the stirrups if You haven't already. Much safer than bending over to hook the strap around Your heels.
2nd the stirrups make life much easier other than that real nice stand
My brother has this stand and loves it after adding the stirrups. does not have very much foot room. Is Summit still carrying this stand?
i have strups and summit dose carry this stand
Thanks guys
I have used one for 4 years and this year (In Zero degree weather) I got up to shoot and SQUEEK, party over. Nice stand, replace the cables every two years and lubricate it prior to cold weather.
yes i have a few friends who ahve them, they like them for the light weight. and pack reasonably well. i have the viper ss. the climbing stirups are a big help, dont forget to wear that harness!
I bought one this year and it worked quite well for me. It's definately one of the lightest climbers available, but as a longtime loc on stand user, took a bit to get used to.
Summit stands are great. Here are some mods I've done to mine, might give you an idea or 2.

Thank you, just trying to help.
wow guys thanks alot. safety harness 1st. only way up :wavey:
waiting4fall...thanks for the ideas on the stand mods...I will be adding the padding to the back up mine.
Add stirrups there great. I put some on another brand of stand and made huge difference to me.
I would like to try one some day because of the light weight. I have an older Summit Cobra made before they went to all aluminum stands. It's really a nice, sturdy stand but it's kinda heavy. I added the stirrups and I'm glad I did. I would also like to change my seat to a "net" seat like my buddy did to his Summit. It makes them a lot easier to climb with.
