Congrats! I think a trad turkey is one of the ultimate accomplishments. Great job!
-
almost had a second one. Frigid temps had them at the same place everyday.
-
The first bird is a big deal...almost as big as getting a deer. You did well. Took me many years to get my first bird.
-
I understand no deer here. Turkey with LB is huge deal! :notworthy:
-
Turkey with a longbow is a huge trophy IMO.
-
You did good!
-
Yippie!! Way to go Dave! How cool is that? Way!!
I'd be surprised if you told me that it wasn't the MOAB that helped put turkey on the table.
I do have to say.. it ain't over yet. The fat lady hasn't sung! Now maybe you've run out of time but I didn't think about that because as that ole radio announcer from Springfield used to say "If you're too busy to go(fishing/hunting) then you're just way too busy.
Congratulations!
God bless,Mudd
PS Lord willing, I'll see you Sunday.

My longbow turkey is one of, if not, my major hunting acomplishments!! You have every right to be proud.

Congrats or should I say gobble, gobble. :clapper:

Way to go congrats

I understand how you feel about no deer this year. I'm paddling in the same boat. Saw lots of turkeys within 10 yards, but where I hunt, ya' can't shoot 'em. So I'm gonna just sit back an anticipate next year. :banghead:
Congrats on the new bow and drawing first blood on the bird. :clapper:

I've had a few "no deer years" and this was one of them. Three chances and blew everyone!! :knothead: Hope next season is better. Congratulations on the turkey!!!

Im given Dave another chance. He is trying to sweet talk the wife so he can come out to my farm and hunt tommorrow night and Thursday. Seen 26 Saturday night, so it should be a pretty good bet that I can get him close. But Daves' been know to blow a chance or two that I have set up for him. :knothead:

No, I did not get one either. I passed on several does and a small spike but was holding out for a mature buck that never came within range (saw him twice, though). Then just this morning on the way to work, I almost hit a nice 8 pointer in the road literally at the edge of Biggie Hoffman's yard. Do I get any style points for maneuvering out of the way? Biggie owes me for saving that one for him.

Way to go I haven't had a shot at a turkey
-
Im in the same boat no deer this year :banghead: but i did get rid of the beaver that was damming up the creek with a little help from my Robertson Stykbow. :goldtooth:
-
Good job on the turkey!
-
Did you hunt deer? If yes, then I'd say you had a successful deer season anyway (as opposed to an unsuccessful one where your butt stays on the couch).
As to the turkey - great job!

Didn't see anything where I hunt either...
Too many cows.
