Title: adcock acs 3 piece question, picture added
Post by: jrchambers on January 10, 2010, 12:27:00 PM
i have a 64 inch acs it seems to have a good bit of reflex deflex un strung but when strung it looks like a d shape bow, all of the pics on ols site look like a hybrid when strung, to get that look the brace height would have to be at 5"
wondering if this is all the way its suposed to be

I have the same bow and I also brace at 7 1/4. The brace height of your bow looks to high in that picture! What does it measure from the throat of the grip?

Drop an e-mail to A&H im sure they will help you out. Does look strange, mine has much more reflex than that.

I reread your post and see you stated "OL's" website. What year is your bow and is it an ACS/CX

I agree with you JR, your limbs do look "bowed out" or "D" shaped if braced at 7.25".  Before I saw the picture I wouldn't have believed it.  From just the photo though, it does appear that there should be a little more reflex one third the distance in from the tips.  Certainly worth asking the good folks at A&H.  Hard to believe that your limbs should be any different though.  I'll be curious to hear.

Good luck

Kris

The bows could have come out of the same form, sometimes I change things with the amount or degree of tapers used. A slight difference in speed might be the only difference.

What is the poundage. Maybe the lighter poundage bows have lighter tips, limbs flex more towards being straight with lighter poundages?

I would probably guess that it is one of the ACS's that O.L. built prior to the CX.  Sure has more of a D shape than any of the ACS CX's I have owned.
