Check out this footage. Backland Outdoors shot an episode with Ted up in the mountains of Idaho during the Raptor Archery selfbow - bear hunt. Very cool footage of the mountain camp, building and shooting self bows, and especially of Ted's son Jesse playing his ukelele in the backgound.
It takes a minute to load but is very special footage. The show wil be airing sometime in the near future on Backland Outdoors

Thanks for putting this up Sean , I will keep everyone posted for when the show airs , this is just a teaser they sent me .
You will also see some of the guys from Trad Gang on this show as well , you saw Krister from Norway and Shane Champion already in the promo.
This footage was a lot of work but a joy to do as well, at one point in the show while we are building bows the local wolf pack starts a morning howl in.The song you see Jesse playing was also written by him called "Flight of the sweatbees"inspired by the pesky little guys that buzz in front of you face at a hover for long periods of time while in a treestand.
Getting ready to post a thread on booking the 2010 bear hunt bowbuild so stay tuned or contact me at the store.
Scott called me one day to tell me the footage of Ted pushing me up the mountain on the trail 90 was classic footage. Looks like the one Ted power Honda is making the show. :readit: :biglaugh:
That was a cool video Ted, now I need to see the rest of it. Jesse playing the background music was a nice touch.

Got it to work.. The only 2 channels I get are Pursuit Channel and Sportsmen Channel. Hopefully it will be on one of them.
Backland airs on GAC, channel 167 here on Dish Network. It comes on around 7:00am or 7:30am. CK
Thanks Curtis!
I guess my stone age computer isn't gonna let me see it.
God bless,Mudd
Curtis...Whats GAC stand for..What channel is that? :o
Just received this from Scott, this should make it easier to find, especially for me , no TV gotta find one. Gotta check out me pushing Curtis on the Honda, maybe even the snowmobile that burst into flames.
Hey Ted,
Thought all your trad guys might want to see a guy that shoots rifles and compound bows take on the so addictive task of traditional archery. The show when we got together with you in Idaho and made selfbows and knapped flint heads is to air in just a few weeks. I wanted you and your family to see it. The show is about the adventure that took place, the feel of what it is like to get on ground level with the mountain bear with what is truly stick and string. Tell your trad friends I understand and that this is a show built with respect of the sport. Thank you for the experience and more over the friendship. Let me know what you think after you watch it. Nothing but traditional on this show, good stuff, life changing for this Minnesota boy. Enjoy!
Airs the week of 1/18 – 24th first air is on Thursday night the 21st on Pursuit Channel Direct TV channel 608 Thursday nights 9:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM and Sunday 2:00 PM eastern time. Also airs on GAC Great American Country 8:00 AM Saturday morning. On Direct TV , Dish Network and most of the cable feeds.
Sincerely,
Scott Anderson

No TV is a lifestyle I could certainly enjoy!
Scott has called me frequently over the last year. What happened for him while up there in Idaho truly changed his life to the Trad side. He still has sponsors in other hunting venues and with ties to other methods of hunting but that fella got bitten big time by the Trad side. That's good stuff right there!
If Scott had things his way he'd be hosting an all Trad TV Show. Keep up the good work Ted and Scott. CK
Great little video. I would like to see more of the countryside and mountains with Jesse playing in the Background.
Dave,
Best way is to come with us , not a more beautiful place will you find. It would be nice to see you west of the Rockies again.
nice second would be the show coming up, should be plenty of mountains and countryside to see.
One more run for the guys that may have not seen it
that is a great video..i would like to see more but i dont have t.v...if i am right i think i have a picture of me standing next to jesse(i think)when he was younger(blonde hair)at the brownsville shoot.it might be one of the other fry boys..dont know how many kids ted has..later john
Very cool!
Looking forward to watching Ted and the boys.
Thanks for the dates & times.
Hey , I finally got to see the show , great job on the guys from Backland Outdoors, Scott really went out on a limb here to show the meaning of the hunt,
the focus is on the trip and the good times shared.
After seeing the show and the cabin I cant wait till spring and chasing bears.
We need some guys to step up and fill the slots for the Bear hunt / bowbuild
Saw the show today. Realy neat. Looking foward to his hunt with the knapped head and self arrow. Retirement in 4 years. Hope you still have the bow build/ bear hunt then. Would like to be part of that someday.
I look forward to having you join us in four years Owlbait.
We do have a couple of horned owls around the cabin at night each spring ,I love to hear them calling. And then of course the neighborhood wolves as you heard on the show.
Dang...now I've got to find a chanel to watch this. :)
Better yet Rod , come be a part of the 2010 hunt, best way to see the country is be there.
