Well, the snow and 17 degrees didn't stop us. A few of us gathered at Double-T Archery in Amherst, NY to share a breakfast, and walk the trails.
Knee deep snow made the target outlines a touch strange, and sometimes you had to just shoot at the snow (Where the heck is that pig?). No arrows lost, lots of laughs, and sore legs.

Beats sitting inside... :bigsmyl:
What are you all doing?
Cool Pictures!
Looks like you guys had fun!
Thanks for sharing.
Sitting inside! hope to get out this weekend! Looks like a great time out.
That looks like a riot! I grew up in W. NY (Corfu). Makes me home sick beleive it or not.. I'll take that over 95 hot sticky degrees all summer long!
It was refreshing to no have mosquitoes.....
I love winter in New York, especially with a bow in hand.
You know there is a very fine line between smart and...... never mind lol. Now that's die hard archers.
Bet the water wasn't a problem !!
Nothing better then being out in the snow, shooting with friends. COOL!
My Kinda Fun! Awesome!
Looks like a great time fellas!!
Awesome.
Awesome! I simply cannot comprehend such cold! A happy time indeed!
Dress properly, and there is nothing like a clear winter day in NY. I haven't tried it while it was snowing, but it looks fun
Nice pictures Bob. We missed you today at TT. Charlie cooked a fine ham while we were out shooting. It's time to mention the "Cabin Fever Traditional Shoot" which runs Feb.27&28. We cook venison and archery all day long. It's a real friendly shoot and the excellent food is free to all shooters. Open to everyone who enjoys the winter in WNY. A huge bonfire all day into the night. I'm not sure what the cost is for the shoot, but we have 30 or more targets out there that you can shoot all day if you feel like it.
Wow you guy's are pretty tough
Hey Stone Knife. I believe our paths have crossed before. I camp just across the road from "Sensei" at the Hawkeye shoot. I'm the friendly looking guy in the pictures on this thread. Are you aware of the fine winter trad. shoot that Double T has?
And I thought our shoot was cold. It was 30 here in NC. Your guys shoot looks more fun.
I wish I could have been there too, looks like great fun!
John,
Looking forward to this years Double T Cabin Fever Shoot. We had a good time last year.
Love shooting in the Winter Months. This morning at Hawkeye we had 15 Members shooting with it being minus 7 at sunrise. Woods looked great with the fresh snow, creek was froze solid and the trees were making a cracking noise. Targets were a bit stiff however.
Take care,
Brian
