Happy New Year to the Trad Gang family of archers...
Wishing everyone a year of health, happiness, and arrows hitting their mark.
Email me anytime with questions or comments on instinctive shooting. I don't claim to know it all but after 38 years of shooting that way, I know a little. Plus I knew some great folks that were good teachers... last names like Groscup, Bear, and my father.
We will mark 25 years on stage this year with instinctive archery shows. Crazy huh?!?
God Bless--- and shoot straight,
Frank
congratulations on 25 years!
Lucas
happy new year frank I hope to meet you one day.
One of the things I like most about this site is the quality of people drawn to post here.
Congrats and Happy New Year!
Thank you! Happy New Year to you!! I won't forget that you offered so when I feel the need you can expect an e-mail from me. I am very appreciative of folks like you who have the knowledge and are willing to share it.
God bless,Mudd
Have a happy, healthy, safe, and blessed 2010
Welcome aboard Frank, glad to have ya..... Happy New Year brother! The more knowledge here the better!
you mentioned stacy groscop. I was honored that in 1997 my son, hunter tchorzyk, was baptized by stacy at denton hill. The proudest time of my life. The man was a great person, he shot a bow like no one else, and loved life. He will be missed
Thanks for all the comments folks!
Sleepingbear---what an honor! Stacy's father baptized my father when he was born so I grew up watching my shooting idol do shows. And just when I turned 18 Stacy tossed a Pepsi can up into mid air and challenged me to hit it... the rest as they say is history. Now here we are 25 years later...
Anyone who ever met Stacy won't forget him. He was one of a kind. Be sure you read the tribute to him I wrote in Sept 2005 when he passed away. You can find the tribute story on my website at www.frankaddingtonjr.com (http://www.frankaddingtonjr.com) look for the Stacy tribute on the home page.
Shoot Straight,
Frank
frank, I am not computer savvy. I want to see the tribute to Stacy but I did not see it. Am I missing something?
Welcome to Tradgang, Frank
One day I hope to see one of your shows in person. I have seen some of your stuff online, and it looks like of alot of Stacy, and your dad rubbed off on ya!
Thanks for your offer to share with us :archer:
A general question I have is
What set up bow\\arrow wise set up are you shooting now? That you have the most comfort and faith in for yourself.
Welcome Frank! Nice to see another WV bowhunter on here. Did you used to shoot at the Huntington Archery Club?
I remember Stacy. That man could really shoot a bow. Great person too.
Congradulations on 25 years, and Welcome to the site. Met and visited with Mr. Groscup at the Iowa Bowhunters shoot one year. Never would have believed a man could shot a aspirin out of air until i seen it with my own eyes. He was worth meeting in life. Met and visited with Mr. Bear back in 80 a wonderful pleasure as well. Maybe someday you'll make it to Iowa and i can see it happen again.
Congrats and Welcome!!!!
I met Stacy, like many did, and his Son, at the ETAR shoot many years ago. I spoke to them both at length on matters of faith, and later to the son.
Quality people. You had a magnanimous mentor, for sure!
Stacy, Keep the Son in OUR eyes!
Sleeping Bear--
Here's the Stacy tribute... I wrote it the night after he passed. He passed away Sept 20, 2005. I had spoken with him on the 16th. I still use a leather tab he made for me in 1990... it is 20 years old.
Hormoan-
I shoot a custom built rest my father builds for me. Layers of leather and wood glue... simple but effective. There's not a rest manufactured that I can shoot as accurate and do multiple shots with---I shoot up to six arrows at once sometimes. I also break with Stacy and Fred Bear on this--they both liked the arrow off the shelf very close to their knuckle. I grew up switching from compound to recurve and the rest helped me be consistent. It is personal preference I suppose. I do think arrows kick just a little off the shelf and I have found my rest allows the arrow to fly cleaner, quicker. My shows are at point blank range, I don't shoot long yardage at shows. So I want the arrow to come out & straighten out asap.
Thanks Smokin' Joe-
Stacy was the BEST. A good man too.
Mr.Vic
I will be performing at the Iowa Deer Classic in March--in Des Moines. Come on down and see the show.
Thanks JCar315 and Doc.
Have a good weekend amigos.
