A good friend of ours is going into business custom chopping feathers. What shapes, sizes and colors would you like to see?
And what will not sell?
Mike
Low Profile banana cut. 4 and 5 inch. I'd buy a mess of em if I could find em.
Hey Mike,
Is he grinding as well? I get quite a few natural barred from wild turkey's each Spring. My favorite cut is the 3R Swift that 3Rivers carries.

Not grinding yet. That will come later.
Mike
I'll 2nd that Vanilla Gorilla. And add bright yellow, white, and pink

Boy, I'd scarf up all kinds of 4" nanner cuts, I can usually only find 5.5"...
I'd like to see a P&Y/Raptor in a 4" also...
Other than that, it's hard to beat shields and fat parabolics.
If I had one choice (...trying to get to the end of the parabolics I have on hand) I'd only fletch with shield cuts. Rick.
Natural color barred Pope & Young's and nanners!
Pink orca cut 5-5 1/2"
I sell alot of the 5" Banana Cut, then come 5" Trad and P&Y cuts. Twin Shijo if you want an Asian look.
4 inch banana cut also
4 in banana also in flo yellow and pink
If someone would process turkey feathers sent to them and return them ready to fletch. They could do very well.
4 in. Sheild or Banana cut.
4", 41\\2", 5" YELLOW PINK AND CHARTREUSE
BANANA CUT"S
RW 4" hi-profile shield; I would buy a bunch of them
Shields or P&Y will work
I'd buy some feathers still attached to the turkey! Can't ever seem to find em in the woods.
I'm starting building arrows soon and am looking at shield or banana cut although I have an old burner, I may make my own creations.
5" low profile nanners neon yellow or chartreuse, and red.
Mike,
Preferrence in this order in 100's.
1. Natural Barred, LW, RW, Full length, uncut, Primaries. Just cut, dry, ship. No bugs please.
2. Full Length, LW, RW, Dyed White, yellow, orange, red, & black.
4" long,1/2" high nanner cut
I wish someone would make a chopper to do it instead of having to mod one.
Bright pink, 4" shield-cut, RW.
I use sheild cut,but would try banana in4".I don't see many sources of natural barred from the wild one,so if someone could offer them it could be a good business.
Natural Barred, LW shields & nanners
I would suggest natural barred/colored in a healthy variety.
By that I don't mean 10 different shades of brown, light/dark is enough..
Also more 4 inch cuts (please both banana and orca, as they are hard to find and very,
very sweet!
I would also suggest cresting colors/equipment and how-to's(from the homepage)
Mike, I like 5&1/2 Shield L.W. in lots of 100's
bright colors.
My biggest bellyache with feathers next to durability and consistency (IMO, far too many in any 100 count bag of Gateways have bases too narrow for a solid attachment to the shaft, or are cut so wide they don't fit in an EZ Fletch) is cost! If he sells them for less that $37 per hundred I'll buy from him, period.
I like bright yellow, orange, or white 4" LW paras...
I currently cut my own nanners and clip the back end off to look like Dean's because they are so cool looking. Check out this clip and stop it at 2:07. MBB vol1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMnGc3gbkOs)
You'll see what I mean. Mine are a little lower profile though.
LONG and TALL shields (LW)
3 inch A&A cut. Left wing. White and yellow.
Please! :D
Not to seam abnormal but what is the difference between a chopped feather and a burnt feather. What you get from 3R are they chopped or burnt.and don't say ones chopped and ones burnt please :archer:
shields 5" rw white.
I would by 3 or 4 inch low profile bananna cut feathers. I hate chopping my own. Well,I really don't hate to do it but it would be nice if I could just buy them.
Gilbert
5" pink shield
I would like to see more right wing feathers on the market. I like shield cut red, white, and red and white barred. right and left wing feathers. Widow
Well it looks like the standard shield and parabolic are still popular.
But a 1/2" high 4" nanner sounds like the one too start with.
He comes over on Friday, I'll pass on the info.
We'll probably be carrying his feathers on our website and at our booth if he goes through with the business plan.
Mike
4" nana's all most any bright color, I like pink and orange.
I second the 3or 4" A&A, especially white and powder blue, left wing, of course.
Why does everyone like banana cuts so much? Not being argumentative, just wondering what the appeal is.
Nanners here too. Snakeeater. For me, nothing more than the look really. Also, you don't see as many on shafts.

there was a whole thing about low profile nanners and EFOC back a bit ago......
also if i remember correctly, the same length and height in comparison to other cuts is supposedly quieter.
I don't remember the specifics, so please stay calm if i didn't remember correctly. :notworthy:
5 1/4" Vintage Shielld Cut, Any color as long as it's Natural Barred ;)
