Got a call from a friend today. He has been out of state (Arkansas) most of the year but is back now. He called today and asked me to go hunt with him on some public land.
First and formost was ensuring I had enough clothes to stay warm. It's been down in the teens here this week and is suppose to drop down to 7 on Friday morning. Unbelievably cold for Arkansas. I lived in Alaska for 4 years and understand what cold really is but believe me I am aclimitised to our usually mild winters here in Arkansas.
I dug around in the closet and found some bibs. I tried them on only to find out they had shrunk in size frome two years ago! Dang cheapo bibs. Scrounged around and found another pair and they fit snuggly but hey they did zip up. Threw in 4 wool sweaters, my vest, gloves and a couple of stocking caps. Hope it is enough.
We will be hunting until Friday. I've been having the worst luck hunting this year than any I can remember. Maybe with my buddy back things will change for the better. At least I get to visit and hunt with my buddy again. That in itself will be worth the trip. A deer or a hog will be a bonus.
Go getem Pac. Good luck and stay warm
Good luck and good shooting.
